i have stainless from the rear axle to the motor mounts
then i have rubber connecting the fuel cell and carb

Had an appointment for new windshield. The guy gets there and says- "we have the wrong rubber" :dohh:

Gonna take a couple days to get the new one in- sucks cause I wanted to get it to the alignment and muffler shop this week

Finally got to see her again! It has been a few weeks since I was last at my shop, so I drove out there today and paid her a visit. Didn't have anytime to spend with her, but I have been collecting a few essential power tools I have been years without. Now I think I have what I am going to need to get the parts truck disassembled and ready for the scrap yard. Should be some more progress coming soon...

Thanks man !

I started looking for doors, fenders and hood in 1997, just got these last year..even out here in Ca these things are rare, and these are far from perfect, they had some pin holes here and there along the bottom, I used Por15 and filled them, I scored these from the most rusty truck I ever saw, go figure...another member here has the cab and is using it for a crew cab build

I removed the bed end I messed up last weekend when I backed up and hooked it on my metal fence. I pounded on it for a while until I got bored with it. Nonhog & I swapped it over to HEI last weekend. I think I'll go out and broaden my plug gap from .035 to .045.

I finally got all of the rubber weather strip installed in the passenger side door today, so now both sides are finally done.

bleh.

However, the vent window does not want to seat just right at the top, so I have to fudge with it to make it close.

I'm not sure what the deal is there yet, I'll have to keep messing with it I guess.

What engine is it? If it's a TBI 305 or 350 it will fit with no problems. Are you staying with the EFI?

I actually found a 78 350 carb motor that I may pick up its just untill I decide how I will build my real motor for the truck

what would be the best way to clean a engine? I know that the outside is easy pressure wash with a good degreaser but what about pulling the pan off and having just a block what and how would you clean the inside. I bought a 350 plus a turbo 350 trans that ran but has been sitting in storage for about 6 months. Im going to change all the gaskets and add other goodies but I wnat to clean it inside and out before adding royal purple. This is just my hurry up motor so I can move the truck around

I would just drain it and fill it, not worth the effort , if you insist on cleaning I have heard that 1 qt of atf in the oll for a few miles will clean the engine inside, they sell cleaners for the block but it is just kerosene...

when I am done with my doors I will have my old ones for grabs if you are interested, the pass one is just needing an outer and the drivers an inner and outer, they both have 6x 9 holes cut in them

Just got back from the parts store and it is the dist. mod a 23 dollar part, I'm glad thats all it is but..... The real kick in the teeth is- I have to wait till payday to get it. so broke lately! been in the hospital 3 times this month for the strokes, at least they are telling me that they are caused from seisures, the problem with that is ... the state could take my lic. five years to build my truck and I might lose my licence, nice!!!! I feel like retard , cant hardly speak and get confused , when I have a episode. my mind still works just cant get it out. enough about my wining. I'm drivin it- period!!!!

I started bolting things together and painting (Por15) the bed wood and cross rails today. I found an excellent (just like original) seam caulking product at NAPA a few days ago. It comes in 12" lengths x 60 pieces for approx $20. I used some when I attached the steps to the fenders and I will use more when I attach the rear fenders, etc.
