a bottom a arm no an upper yes with a balljoint change

you probably have 3" spindle cause no one makes them in 1/2 inch inkerments
and a 1" dropped spring it looks like its setting about the same as mine

your right on the spindle, but the springs are stock. I sure was hope'n to use the tubular LCA's when I bag'd it. I bought every thing off a bag'd 1/2 ton Suburban to bag one for my Girlfriend, but end'd up buy'n her a '78 Cutlass instead , the bags and compressor's I can use on my S10 ,
you reckon a machine shop could modify the lower to work ? is the ball joint the issue with the lower arm ?

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

yeah the ball joint for the 3/4 and 1 tons are alot bigger the uppers bolt in so thats an easy fix the bottoms press in

I am surprised no one has posted this one on eBay...I wanted to bid, but the price got insane quite fast...and the reserve isn't even met yet...makes me wonder!

It is the exact combo I am looking for, couldn't ask for a better candidate for my tow rig, but i'd rather spend that much money doing the work myself versus paying for someone else's work...

That one is about as clean as the '90 I built...this truck is exactly what I want, but I'd rather save money and do my own resto and 4L80E swap a cheaper truck...

final bid: $20,000!?! seems a little much, im a 2wd swb guy, are these crew cabs worth that much normally? and with almost 200K on the ticker, i know we know thats no biggie for a chevy motor but geez. given it is a very handsome truck and incredibly clean.

It's because it was a '91 with the 4L80E and the truck was a complete body/interior resto...after $14k I was out because of the 188k mile engine and trans! It was a gorgeous truck, but IMO it was only worth $20k with a brand new 454HO or 502HO crate and a built 4L80E!

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

Well, I finally found my project truck...I'll be making a build thread for it, but here it is...it's an '87 CC dually, 52,301 actual original miles, full service history, 454/t400/205. The truck has been sitting for years, the owner is an old boss of mine and he literally only starts it yearly to go smog and register it. It looks like some neighbor kids were playing basketball and dropped it on the hood, right on the center crease, so it's getting a Goodmark Cowl, the passenger side rear door has some weird old body work that didn't last, so I'll have to either skin it or replace it, since I want a SRW, I'm going to drop the axles, sell them and the bed, which are all it great condition.

Really, the truck just needs a ton of cleanup work and paint...I went ahead and made a pretty big list of things to order with LMC, so as I strip and raplace everything, I'll update the build thread...it should move fairly fast! :)
