seeing a garage build is almost as fun as seeing a truck build!!! you'll prolly have as much in building it as the one I just bought!!! be worth it though, you def deserve some good space to work in.

You're gonna feel like you died and gone to heaven. Shop looks fun.
Starting to frame my "Shed" last week, looking forward to see how you install the radiant heating system. Mines hydronic with 1/2 inch red pex, on 12" centers.

Keep on keepin on

NC

I'm already super excited and the back yard has just been flattened lol. I am doing Hydronic as well, I have not seen the drawing for pipe layout yet, I am using a tank less NG water heater.

Came home from work to find a WW1 trench across my back yard. It's for the gas and hydro. CJ (dog)was having a blast jumping in and out of the trench. I am taking care of the hydro so I had to get the conduit in. You can also see the foam insulation for under the floor.
On a truck related note, I have been mucking with my high boost and got 11psi of last night, then got 12psi on my 2nd pull. Sweet, goes like a scared rabbit.

I started thinking 30x36. then I was in my brother in laws 30x40 and said why not. then someone on here said the extra 6 ft on a 36x40 was worth it, so I added it. then someone else said a 36x42 was almost 25% bigger than a 30x40 so I said ok. then someone else said get stem walls not a slab, and someone else said use attic trusses. so what wwe got a quote for was 36x42 with stem walls and 6" floor, a 25x25 outside pad, 20ft tall with attic trusses, 10ft garage and that leaves a good 7' ceiling in the upstairs, why not add a hayloft door and dormer and window upstairs....

so now I am looking at a 30x36 again hahaha. even doing the electric, siding, gutters, insulation and wallboard downstairs myself the bigger one cost more than a church.

LOL ya well they can never be big enough that's for sure. The city allowed me to go 30x40 that is the size I always dreamed of. My son asked if I could go bigger would I, I said I could not afford bigger. So there is always a line.

30x40 will be really nice! My shop at my parent's place is 39x40 but there is a center wall divider. That really cramps it but it still beats what I had before. My garage is 28x30 and I wish it was bigger every day.

My tank less hot water heater showed up :) They got all the screw piles in and the gas line trench all filled in. Progress is good. Also found a random picture of the limbo contest in a newspaper, from the city where the northern showdown show was.

I work in a 20x20 right now and its freaking miserable. I have scars on my shins from banging them on parts that stick out:lol:

But it is soooooo nice having a sink to wash hands in, keeps the door handle from the garage and the door handle to the house much cleaner!

Lower, I have the same bluetooth receiver mounted under my seat. Love it!

I'd love to have a sink in a garage or a shop. For the reason mentioned above.

Nice pic in the paper. I bet if you chop the top over winter, you have a better chance of winning next year.

It may be a pain but it's nice to have somewhere to work. My good friend Joe doesn't even have a garage.

That would be a huge chop to get down to the mazda p/u's.

Sorry to disappoint guys no water in the shop. That would be the icing on the cake tho. Water to the shop changes a lot on the inspection side need a drain hooked up to the city's waste water system, the supply pipe has to be 5.5' deep to prevent freezing. The in floor heating will be a closed loop system with antifreeze. The blue water pipe is so I could run a cable to get internet back there, or whatever I want, or down the road water. I'll just have to blow it out in the winter.

The vapor barrier is down, forms are level and straight, and the 2" foam is almost done. Today they will get the rebar finished up and pipes layedout for the heat. They are hoping to pour concrete this week. :).

Also on another note 3 weeks today we leave driving my GMC, pulling our camper 770mi in a day and a half to Charlotte NC for the Good guys show like we did last year. We had such a fun trip. Then we are taking 5-6 days stopping along the way to come home. Hope to meet up with some of you along the way.:metal:
