Bought some YOM plates for my 67. Found out in CO you only have to run YOM plates on the back and the registration is free. Pretty killer.

Cool piggy bank, I too have my twin girls in university, twice the cost all my life, never ending but whatever it takes..

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Well, it wasn't today, but I've made progress on the engine. Turns out the valves were not the issue, the lifters were, so out they came, along with the stock cam.
New cam should arrive tomorrow, and then it's on to the heads. The double humps still need a rebuild, but I have a set of TBI heads that will work for the time being, just need to clean them up and put them on. |

Painted the bottom of my cab with Kirker Inferno Red Metallic with clear on top. Used a cheapo Harbor Freight gun. The picture makes the color look burnt orange for some reason.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
I got a little bit done today.
I checked into getting the front bumper painted. I can get it sandblasted and powder coated for $125.00 but I'll have to bring it in to the paint shop for an estimate. I might do that Friday morning on my way to pick up the cowl from the epoxy primer guy. I also cleaned up some screws and asked on here about removing and replacing the heater box caulk. |

Added a new rear bumper and new bumper brackets. It doesn't seem to look right though. Brand new premium bumper. Doesn't it look like it is angled down? Is this right?

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Any chance it is a Fleetside bumper? Or brackets are on the wrong side R&L. Never mounted a Stepside bumper, but that doesn't look right. Beautiful Truck!

That would be my guess. It took me FOREVER to get my back fleetside bumper aligned with a new bumper/brackets. Fitting around the NLE tank and porterbuilt rear frame brace didn't help either. |

I found a crack in my passenger side ram horn. I bought a decent set locally for $20. The only issue I ran into was the new set was the alt. mount type. Instead of modifying the alternator mount to work, I modified the manifold.

More done today than in a long time!
I checked on getting the front bumper sandblasted and painted. I called but could not reach the media blaster guy that has my cowl. I drilled out the rivets on the heater box, removed most of the old caulk, washed the heater box, and have some of its internals soaking in Evaporust. |
