Ha ha. Too bad you couldn't run it, though. The whole time I had that Jimmy that door it's hung on had a work bench in front of it. I did have historic tags on it and could have registered that plate as YOM. I guess I need another '85. I wish I still had that one. Talk about fuel prices. That thing got 22-15 mpg

Yeah. Anyone following close enough to catch the first board to slip out of that haphazardness deserves to be taught to think more

I do really miss the Jimmy. It was an easy rig to buy, fix up, enjoy, and unfortunately sell. If it wasn't raining, the sides were rolled up!

Picture from my deck. Whiskey Flat Days. The rodeo is a stone's throw away from me. It was an endless line of people all day. The place was packed. Standing room only. No parking. I had to put out traffic cones to keep people from parking in my driveway. That's why the Corvette and the Jeep are parked out front. Otherwise I'd have to park a mile away.

But it was fun. We must have had 30 people we know stop by to check out the new place. :alc:

It's going okay. Still no internet and the toilet was backing up. I had the plumbers come out and they confirmed my suspicions. I have 2 big trees in the yard and the roots are wreaking havoc with my pipes. They ran a camera down there and it wasn't pretty.

The trouble is that I don't want to cut down the trees. So they cleared the lines and said if I didn't cut them down that they'd be back. I guess that's the price I have to pay for my beautiful old trees.

I liked this old Forest Service truck that parked in front of my house.

have you looked into CIPP?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cured-in-place_pipe

I was facing the same dilemma and after consulting with several plumbing companies decided to go for it..

wasn't cheap, something like $75/foot, about $6500 from the house to the street.. estimate to remove trees and excavate was over $10k, and we'd lose the trees.. it was well worth it, haven't had a single drain issue in over 8 years.. and regardless of the costs, sewer issues stink!

the first couple of years we owned the house we had numerous drain issues ranging from $250 snakes - $1000 jetting..

host piping has to be suitable though, no major offsets etc. but once it's done, it's rated for stand alone duty, the host can rot completely away..

100 year design life and we got a 25yr warranty through contractor that installed ours..

good luck!

sewer line runs between driveway and those two big trees, the trunk on the corner tree is huge!

I will defiantly look into CIPP. I have heard of it and actually recommended it to a friend several years ago. His problem was in the cement slab of his house and they were going to rip up his floors to repair it. I can't believe that I forgot about that.(Duh) My front yard is really small so hopefully it wont be too bad price wise. This last plumbing bill was $1800 but that was for jetting and a bunch of miscellaneous stuff.

Sewer problems are the worst. Imagine my horror when I knew people were coming over and the toilet in my one and only bathroom took a dump on me.

It reminds me of an old house where I rented a room from my buddy. We had a party and the toilet backed up with a bunch of people there. I told him that the toilet was overflowing and was flooding the bathroom. He was pretty drunk and told me to drill some holes in the floor.

of course I don't have any gross pictures like that - however I do have this little gem I'm saving for posterity ;)

super trooper from the commode brigade tangled in some root intrusion - left by one of our guests of a kids party

only positive thing that came of it was finding the root intrusion early and treating it before any slab damage..

If my toilet could flush that down I wouldn't need a plumber. That's impressive.

Unfortunately I get it. :waah:

I never got the logic behind the low flow toilets that you have to flush 5 times. How does that save water?

How low flow are the toilets in CA? Lower than elsewhere, 1.6gal I believe ours are. I have one vintage set to fill half way and one vintage "style" reduced flow. I can't remember if the bought new one is that low or is the first lower water use that came before, like 2.xx. I've had it for 30 years. It flushes fine, once. I don't hear people complain about the 1.6s not doing their job. I'd think people living where water is in such demand with such poor supply that you would embrace saving water on flushing toilets to have more water available to consume and wash up with.

No doubt! Fritz is having a good time!

There hasn't been a vacuum made that has been "Dozer proof". Ours (12 y.o. 90# Staffordshire) will go on the offensive if we leave the hall closet door open. Attacks the thing standing still yet will let a cat sit on him to keep warm .

Kinda funny until we have to get a new one.

The vacuum that is..

Thank you, was a lot of work but I’m pretty happy with it.

Here’s another Random

Working the ole 2500HD pretty good.

3306 Cat/Sullair PDX 20 screw compressor package. Not sure how much it weighs but I can assure you, the 6.0 3/4 ton is NOT up to the task. It’ll move it around the yard but it is NOT a safe tow vehicle for the weight. The skid it is all mounted on it is Concrete filled.

I sure love smashing gas and kicking ass for a living!

It's about time to say goodbye the your snow. It feels like spring is trying to get it's foot in the door here, a zone or so south of you guys. I imagine you are getting early signs as well. Oh, it will get cold some more here in march, and maybe more snow... surely some big wind. But it's in the air, the feeling of cold but not as cold and warm being a bit warmer. The birds tell the story in their songs.

I took this picture not long after I built the little barn I'm in the process of moving. I remember I bought my '90 Harley before the slab was poured. I poured the slab and it seemed hard enough to wheel the bike back in that evening. I don't have a picture, could take one, but it left a tire imprint that I thought was cool. Like a kid writing their initials in green concrete.

Not long after, I poured the slab outside the barn. I had replaced the timing access cover on the Harley with a custom one and I set the original into the concrete at the center of the door. It will be 32" off center once I move the barn

That's cool. It gives me an idea. I have an old timing cover floating around here someplace. I was going to put it on Ebay but it might make some good yard art.

... If I can find it.
