ok where do you find the kit to delete the step part of the bed in the rear like on the grabber blue stepper with the caddy clip? do they make it for front and rear? ive seen this before but for s10's so i figure its a kit.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
East coast customs used to make the step shaver kit, but they are not around anymore. From what I hear, guys have been able to find someone seliing a knockoff of them on Ebay.

Changed wheels/tires last month. An older picture had a suggestion that I get rid of the tailpipe that ran behind the right rear tire. I had that done a couple years ago. Here's two pics...one as it was when I got it from my youngest son and put the wheels he had bought in '01 on it, and the second is how it looked on Thursday. I'm still adjusting to the look of the new wheels, but I am overwhelmed by the numbers of positive comments I have gotten for such a simple change.

I can see the logic in what you're suggesting. It does make sense and in a lot of ways would probably be easier than shaving all 4 steps, but there are 2 issues that I can see with it.
One is that you wouldn't have the fenders flowing into the bedsides as smoothly as with the normal sportside bedsides. You could mold them in, but then you're asking for cracking. The big issue is that you're going to have to either shave and relocate the fuel filler or modify the dually fenders for it to work, unless you find some rare dually fenders from a CCSB dually. This is a shortbed dually that was a work in progress. If you look, you can see that the dually fender just about half covers the fuel door. |

I agree with what your saying. Any way its done, it will need alot of bodywork.:D |
Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
That it will. The rear steps are bad enough when you have some pre-fabbed pieces to graft on.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
well i am a bodyman and custom work is what i normally dig gettin into. this shouldnt be that big of a deal for me. i stretch and mold dually fenders pretty often. theres some black stuff called panel bond, look into it for molding on fender flares, hood scoops, dually fenders, body kits, etc....
i do see what you mean about something being missing when you shave both front and rear, but it think if i do it like the 95-up s10 stepper and swoop a lill piece right behind the cab to blend in, it wont be that bad looking, maybe even all the way up. i dig the look tho |

The dually fenders have a more abrupt curve on the front side to allow for the fuel filler door. |

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
OBS CCSB's are awesome, duallies are even more wicked. Would love to have a 4wd CCSB, dually, maybe lifted, hmmm... now I'm going to be drooling all over the keyboard. The guy who has one in town owns a stereo shop, so you'd think he'ld have it pretty tricked out, but all he has done to his black OBS CCSB 4x4 dually is pipes. I'd really like to know production numbers on these trucks.
