What's the drop on your pickup? I really like the way that one sits. Love the color too, that may be the way I go with my '66 LWB.:metal:

3" springs up front with 2" drop spindles and a 5" spring in back with 2" blocks and a small notch in rear. Also had to do a trackbar kit. 205-70-15's all the way round.

Here;s a few shots of my 62 that I'm just about done with - except for the engine & drive train that is. It's a 1962 Step Side with a 235 & Powerglide, Power Disc Brakes, Rallys, & TA's. Here's a few pictures of the before & after shots.:smoke:

Sweet truck man! Low budget is WAY cooler than high dollar rides.. I've pulled up to a red light next to a new Viper on cruise night and dumped the bags on my 76 Blazer and nobody was lookin at the Viper while I'm the one gettin the thumbs up from pedestrians!

Wow, you took it and made a heck of a nice rig out of it. That's why I like before/after pics, makes you appreciate the completed truck a lot more when you remember where it started.

Bear;

We painted the truck in a portable garage in the driveway..Not a concours,but works for what we use it for..
Here is the floor..I had some walnut boards laying around for 25 years..Decided this would be a great place to use it up.

The bed strips are original. The truck had a galvanized steel overtop the original wood..
It likely saved the strips ,but the wood was rotten.

We use a mat overtop the wood to haul crap around.

Beautiful floor, that walnut is gorgeous. What did you use for a stain and what did you use to seal it?

We drove this truck all last winter..
Held up pretty good..

Very cool truck - everything about it. Really dig the camper, lettering and particularly the racing discs. Once common, they're hardly ever seen anymore. Looks like it drove right out of 1965.

i hear ya, dam recession...if i had a job already, mine could be painted sooner...anyway, when the time comes i will be debating between a regular base/flat clear or the Hot Rod Flatz...i wish i could see in person or find pics of a vehicle done in the Tropical Turquoise Hot rod Flatz

Here is my 2cents on hot rod flatz-- they use crappy material, that's why it's cheap, and it won't last over time. They don't do anything to make the satin that you can't do with high quality paint and actually get a better result and make your own custom colors with flakes, pearls, and metallics that kick the asses of their stock colors, and still be reasonable in price. i paint for a living so i know a little- go with base coat of your choice, buy some flattening agent for your clear, do some test panels to determine your preferred sheen. The key to satin paint is to really stir the flattener well into the clear and keep it agitated because most flatteners are made with silicone or wax, so you don't want it mixed unevenly, you will get mottled funky looking paint, which happens with hot rod flatz, who knows how long it sits and seperates before you try spaying it? ok i'll get off my soap box, just wanted to steer you away from using inferior stuff on your prized ride!!
