Re: drag truck update with pics
what thickness are you running on your engine front plate, and are you running a mid plate? i can not tell from the pic. I am putting a 66 together and was woundering about running just a front plate and how much flex there is in the chassis, although i am fully caged.
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a41...s/DSCN1395.jpg 66 long bed, old engine went 10.78 @ 129mph, http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a41...s/DSCN2054.jpg this is the new 496, made 690 at the crank on the engine dyno with 92 octane. |
Re: drag truck update with pics
I am running a 1/4 aluminum front plate and a thin steel mid plate and I am going to have two engine limiters one on each side coming from a plate mounted in the stock motor mount holes running up to a tube mounted to the frame!
Your motor sounds impressive especially on pump gas! |
Re: drag truck update with pics
I am going to be running the new NX Gemini dual stage plate, 150 hp on the first stage and 200 to 250 on the secound stage, the truck is all steele with a fatman stainless arm manual rack frount end, with the 11 inch disc brakes. Running a Dana 60 with ramp style posi, 4 10 gears and 35 spline stange axles. I am running a hipster brake TH 400 with a 4500 stall. the truck with my not so skinny ass in it wieghs in at 4000 pounds with 10 gallons of fuel, 2 10 pound NOS bottle and batties.
Hoping the new set up runs in the mid to high 9's with a ultimate goal of 9.90 on pump 92 octane fuel. |
Re: drag truck update with pics
What headers are you running? I am running a set of 70 Camaro Supercomps that i had to clearance the frame a bit, 2 inch primaries and 3.5 collectors. Just curious if there is something bigger in the primary i can buy that will fit without having Stan's or Lemon's build that will cost a small fotune.
Thanxs for the imfo. |

Re: drag truck update with pics
the master cylinder looks like a um um um, well i think it is a Dodge car master, lol. Lots of them get used becuase of the light wieght design and larg bore for more braking power.
|
Re: drag truck update with pics
I have a strange master cylinder..1 " bore looks just like that one..hey two tons..you ought to come down to redding CA some time..we have a nice track and It would be neat to race another quick truck.
