Very Nice Denee, Like your color choices, I know how hard it is to match up a interior color with red paint.Do I see a bit of metal flake in the red ?

Re: show us your interior

Denee that seat looks great. Do you have any pictures facing back; showing the amount of space between the seat and the cab. I also would be interested in the demensions! :-)

Pic would be the closest point of where the rear door pillar and the top edge of the seat backrest is... Does that make sense? :-/

Hey guys, just found this thread today. There are some super nice interiors, I'm no interior guy, but I've picked up stuff over the years. This is one of the way, just looking at work someone else has done. I've bought tapes and DVD's on interior to learn as much as I can. Anyhow here's a couple pics of the interior of my 50 pickup. If you want to see more just click on my build thread below and it starts on page 15...Jim

It's not finished (obviously) but it's coming together. I love the Dakota Digital gauges and how it's all tying together nicely.

My 59 apache

answers to questions:;)

Tobins, the seat width is 57" from outside of the lower parts of the seat (outside to outside). There is little room on the sides of the seat, the seat fills the area. Just enough room for my shoulder harness to slide. It's a perfect fit.
The more perfectionists wouldn't want this setup as it isn't perfect. It just fits my demands and is very comfortable and acommodates the child seat booster in the middle.

Thanks Marc and Bob!;)

Brikar, yes, it's a metallic red, The clear coat is with pearl which in the sunlight flips the color from red to a greenish tint/hue, incredible! I didn't paint the truck. It was painted already so I can't take any credit except for the dash and engine compartment. At night or a cloudy day, it's more like a solid color, Or more like maroon.

I hope these help~ dne';)

as I said, the seat is a bit wide. I would have installed it anyway due to having our grand daughter enough room to sit in the middle. When the console part is up, I just scoot over to the middle a bit and center myself to the steering wheel. No one has ever made note at the car shows.

This pic was taken dead center of the hood:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ps35be61a6.jpg

But there are benefits to this seat as I can access to the underneath of the seats for storage, as there is little storage available.

The driver's seat will come up, but not all the way. If I want, I can remove the steering wheel for the seat to come up all the way, then the back will fold forward to access behind the driver's seat. As when I was installing the lower part of the seat belt retractor.

59Stepside, I didn't have the best photo that you asked, but I can get back out there and get a pic tomorrow, but this gives you and idea.

Re: show us your interior

Deneen- that's ok, what you posted is good and the 57" measurement. I'm thinking about installing as wide of seat as possible and possibly moving the column and dash cluster over so I can put both my kids seats in the truck and fit the wife!

Your interior looks great and the seat looks very nice in the truck.

Q: The top edge of your seat prob has about an inch on each side right? I'm going to try and keep a list of possible donor candidates for when I start my search for the right seat.

Re: show us your interior

Yes, about 1" on each side. Wow, moving the instrument cluster? that'd be a chore. Actually, with the seat being a little off to the steering wheel, really doesn't bother me. Our grand daughters booster seat takes up the entire center as one could imagine. I paid about 300 for the seat at a salvage yard. Funny thing is, I wanted a Tan seat~ I must be color blind as I thought it was Tan, then found out it was actually Beige:( It's OK though. I'll be curious as to what you come up with;)

I am still a ways away from even starting my interior but I plan to keep a pretty detailed build along the way.

It takes a lil work for them to get heated function going but still some great ones... They fit good in the truck but you just have to watch using armor all on them.... I gets slippery sometimes.....http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/...103_143633.jpg first truck

OK, I guess my theme is pretty much a stock looking hotrod truck from the late '60s, something that I would have driven when I was in my late teens.... The exterior of my 55 2nd is stock other than most chrome emblems have been removed. I have tried to do the interior in colors close to the original ones. Guages, radio, knobs and rearview mirror are all original. The steering wheel is original except for black wrap. Updated things include '68ish Chevelle bucket seats, seat belts, armrests, fire extinguisher, Hurst shifter, and old school tach on steering column. Big Pontiac V8, Muncie 4 speed, and big/little tires to give the rake look.

...Some really nice interiors on this thread - love em' all!...but my heart is with this one. I'm also stuck on that same time period. My AD is well along & will be very close to the theme of this one. Love the "rock crusher" ...just can't afford the Vettes I used to have them in - the truck route is more "economical" & a different kind of fun...

Thanks, Hampshire, I would have liked to restore a '55 sedan like the one I drove in high school, but prices on them have gone sky hi! The truck was affordable for me, and I have been really enjoying it. Here's a shot of my '55 back about 1968.
