Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.
thanks john what i did was notched the frame with some 6'' half tube 3/8'' thick and ordered the shock mount kit from swracecars. as far as the bed i cut the inside and made extentions 8'' wide and then welded the itall back in.i hope this helps you out good luck on your build.http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._2954499_n.jpg

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.
i agree with the license plate that truck is insane
|
Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.
dang.. is there really that much room under there for tires?? without narrowing the frame?? are those custom offset wheels, or is the rearend narrowed?? on either trucks
|
Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.
i forgot to add that i narrowed the rearend 6'' total the wheels are 15x10 with a 5'' backspace i can fit a 15x12 with a 7'' backspace which is what i intend to go to when the money gets right again.

This is because the ladder bars and the front half of the leaf spring establish two different and competing centers of rotation for the axle housing. A floating housing mount eliminates the binding and allows the housing to rotate properly. http://www.jegs.com/images/photos/200/247/247-2030.jpg That other Truck was in the Sport Truck Magazine 1956 Chevy Truck - Double-Stacked Lightnin' http://www.sporttruck.com/featuredve...uck/index.html The 411 Engine/drivetrain: '70s 355-cid GM small-block / forged-steel crank and LT-1 rods / custom dual 6-71 blower intake manifold with 15 psi total boost / ported and polished heads with 2.02/1.60 stainless valves / 0.532/0.305-lift Comp Cams cam / single 750-cfm Holley carb on each blower / GM TH400 trans with 3,500-stall converter / Ford 9-inch rearend with 4.11 gears and posi / MSD 6AL ignition box and Pro-Billet distributor By: Kenny Larson, Florence, Oregon Rims: Front: 15x6 Center Line Warrior Rear: 15x12 Center Line Warrior Tires: Front: 26x7.50-15 Mickey Thompson Sportsman Rear: 29x18.50-15LT Mickey Thompson Sportsman Suspension: Front: Air Ride Technolgies airbags / Chassis Engineering control arms Rear: Triangulated four-link / Koni shocks Accessories: 11-inch Chevelle front disc brakes and calipers Chassis: '72 Chevelle front subframe / boxed rear framerails / Alston's Chassisworks rollcageBy: Owner Body Mods: Hood pancaked 3 inches / top chopped 3 inches / rear fenders widened 1 1/2 inches / bed raised 2 inches / front fenderwells raised 1 1/2 inches / suicide doors / custom smooth inner fender panels, firewall, and tailgate / front turn signals removed / custom spoiler / frenched headlights / '50 Pontiac taillights / exhaust collector replaces side steps / door handles removed / hood cut out for dual blowers and forward-tilt hood hinges added By: Owner Custom Paint: DuPont clearcoat/basecoat black By: Owner Interior: Chris Alston modified rollbar kit / Summit Racing seats and four-point harnesses / custom black carpets, door panels, and headliner / Auto Meter white-face gauges in custom dash / custom console By: Owner (console and dash) / Wayne at Classic Upholstery, Florence, Oregon Audio/video: N/A Club: Rody Cruisers |

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.
Its pretty good with the 600's. It has the Lunati Voodoo 292/300 Roller cam and believe it or not im still using my power brakes. lol I did live in Fort Smith, Ar. and I could drive it anywhere I needed to. Now I live in San Antonio and Im now looking for a newer truck. I put the Predators on for a weekend and those are AMAZING, but not very streetable. I hope I can get it to the track pretty soon. Im going to replace fuel system before I take it.

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.
Man Im not sure. Could have been I know it got passed around for about 6 months. One guy bought it and he was told that it had a 454 in it and he couldnt get it to run right. So my buddy bought it from him and we pulled tha motor and it was a .030 over 396 with a 454 balancer and flywheel. So I ended up with it. When I got the motor it was apart. I put new bearings in it and put it back together with the right stuff.
