Okay, hope I can wake this thread back up. Trying to get things put back “correctly” in an engine bay that had been raped and pillaged like a medieval village. When I found the truck back in the summer of 1985, it had no engine or transmission and all wiring, tubing, etc. had either been chopped or yanked. Here are a couple of pictures of my firewall. I’d just like to verify what each of the holes are used for before I start putting things in incorrectly. Yes, I know my engine color is wrong and ohhhhh how I’d love to correct it, but I’m past the point of no return on that...at least for now. I haven’t driven this truck in over thirty years and I’m dying to get it functioning again. So if I have anything marked incorrectly and/or you can help me with the “mystery holes”, please let me know. I’m at your mercy.

the blower motor wire you have listed is for the cooling tube goes from the blower motor hole to the rubber tube and slides over the metal tube from the evaporator . turn your blower motor hole to the firewall . The tube has a slight angle to slide over from the motor to evaporator .

the blower motor wire goes where the plug is at . on mine the AC wire goes with the wiper hoses, but the other hole for AC would be nice that is where i would put it if mine had the hole.

the other holes on the second picture is the right one looking at the picture is a wire holder for your harness that plugs in so is the other hole which is the same size the little hole next to the wire harness is not used on mine the little holes on the left are for clips to hold the wire for the kickdown switch for the turbo 400 trans . the oil line plug is correct my tach goes also with it . the choke line goes on the far left or drivers side near the hinges on the firewall

Thanks Yelmer. Man, you have jogged some memories. I have the short rubber hose and I remember it connecting the hole on the motor to something on the firewall. I’ll definitely get my blower motor turned.

The plug you see in the hole that your blower motor wire runs through was not put there by me or the guy that painted my truck. I assume the factory put it there and maybe ran the blower motor wire through with the A/C wire in the hole just under the windshield washer tube hole. Who knows? But that plug has the interior gold paint on it on the inside and it is identical to the plugs they put in the access holes on the rear edge of both doors.

yes also use a grommet around the cable
