Thanks oldblue Nothing wrong with a 350, just use a LS for your next truck;)

Re: '72 Chevy SWB, Project Driver

Not really, cleaned up the garage and bought new motor/trans mounts. If the guy that bought my old motor would come get it, I could drag the truck back in the garage and get to work......thinking about putting the motor back on CL and seeing how long it takes for him to show up!

Re: '72 Chevy SWB, Project Driver

I'm calling the harness "done" until I get the motor in and figure out where all the control boxes and fuse/relay box will mount.

In process.

Dog telling me I did something wrong.
http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...y/P1060004.jpg

What was eliminated.
http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...y/P1060007.jpg

End result. No fuses or relays yet, those will attach to the big pink loop. The 3 loops in the upper right of the pic are the electronic throttle wiring and OBDII port wiring.

Re: '72 Chevy SWB, Project Driver

Thanks guys! If everything goes right the motor will be in its new home next weekend! I have the frame/cross member cleaned and painted just need to do some work to the fire wall and paint some more. I still haven't decided if I should weld the AC openings in the fire wall up or just use the block off's that will come with aftermarket AC system. Input anyone?

Hey nice work on the harness! How did you determine which wires you won't be needing anymore? Did you buy a ls install book? thanks,

Thanks, I did buy the book "How to swap GM LS-series Engines" but I didn't reference it much at all. To me the book pushed S&P products more than it provided information. Which is a understandable because I'm sure S&P funded the book.
Pretty much all I did was get wiring diagrams for the donor van from All Data along with advice from here and remove everything from the harness that was not needed. Rear O2's, AC, ABS, EVAP and all of the interior electronics. I guess we'll see how I did on the harness in a few weeks when I try to start it ;)
