Same here Frankie. You'll end up with a real nice ride and I'm excited to see those last touches. I'm miles behind you, but hope to still see you here while I'm fighting those things you are today and can ask you for advice.

Re: 70 C/10 from Cali to Illinois

Well my cousin came over and checked the body & door alignment out, first thought was I tightened up the new body mounts to much so I loosened them up and something popped and things looked a little better I aligned the strikes and all the body lines matched pretty good. Then I notice the bed didn’t line up with the cab about ½ inch off so I measured the bed height at the wheel wells it was almost 2” lower on the left side found the left spring was the problem so I ordered 2 - 3” lowering springs and shocks from CPP off e-bay should get them by the end of the week. So little by little I'm getting there.

Took the rear springs out last night, thinking about pulling it out just to see what it would look like that low but not practical for Illinois roads with all the pot holes. I'm hoping the 3" drop will be good. Get some pix up after work today hopefully.

Truck is looking good Frankie! Any progress on the moulings?

My younger two kids were just squirts when we were attacked. They've talked about it in school as they've grown, but we had a good conversation about it over dinner. One they'll never forget.

Looks good! Fit up'll give ya an ulcer, but it's a great payoff to have it nice for a long time. Had several people say good things about Yellers fitup, and I still don't think it's that great.

I have seen some guys welding extra metal to the doors to close the gaps these trucks weren’t exactly precision built.

Haven't done anything with the moldings yet but that will be the next step also looking for some seats. I found a set old Monte swivel seats for $250 but they need to be recovered thinking about them.

Watching it all over brought the same feelings just like it was yesterday just wish our men could do the job the right way over in the sand pile and then get the heck out.

Trucks looking really nice. LMC sells a set of lowering springs, fronts and rears. Glad I seen these out, cause I need a new set for my truck. Not getting heavy duty springs. After swapping my motor out for a SB, the front end is sitting a little higher than the rear. My rears are clasped on several coils.

I wasn't planning on lowering it but when I was lining things up I notice the bed was leaning a little left so I started measuring and the left side was 2" lower than the right measured the springs and the left was shorter must of been a little weak so I ordered a set of 3" drop springs and shocks from CCP on E-Bay, put them on Tuesday rear is even now I'm going to pull it out over the weekend and see what the stance looks like.

Yeah that's it!! (see page 1 of my build) It's kinda funny because I just sort of stacked things up so my project wouldn't take up too much space where I work. Turned out to make kind'of a cool picture!:uhmk:

Yea this dang site puts to many ideas in my head. seeing ATVPRO's 4 door 4x4's is enough to get the mind going nuts. I been thinking about a 4x4 frame swap but that would be down the road after I retire around mid 2014. I have a bunch of small parts coming in hopefully today from Classic Parts of America
I was going to order from Brothers but they don't have an on-line catalog of all their parts.

Re: 70 C/10 from Cali to Illinois

No I didn't get it out of the Garage it was a little chilly (Being Lazy) but I got some small parts in from Classic Parts. I am taking off W,T & F, I originally was going to the U P but the trip was canceled so I figured I could get some much need work around the house done before it gets to cold and spend a couple of full days on the truck,
weather is supposed to be nice in the 70's. I also secured a spot in my cousin's pole barn for the winter.

Yes I can work on it there that is where I did all the major work and engine rebuild. I looked around on Wed. and relized I had more to do than i thought, the wife didn't want to clean the basement so I was set free to do my stuff. My 95 I had replaced the doors so I needed to paint them they were green and the truck is red so it looked like a Christmas truck got that done. Then my traler I bought last year needed paint the deck was rusting so I wire wheeled and sand blasted it for 2 days. A lot of surface on a 23' trailer plus the sides and some minor repairs, got it primed last night hopefuly I can get it painted after work today.
