looks good ! what did you use for primer on the bed ? I have got my cab all together , trying hard to get it ready for paint this week , will be black so spending extra time on making sure it's straight .. will send pic's soon of progress . it's nice to see you have your family involved in the build :):c2::

Inside is nason etch primer, outside is Featherfill g2. Stripped the front clip last night, off to the blaster this AM. Gotta Fix the insides of the fenders, not bad.

I used a ppg product shop ling , jp205 it's a2 part high build , the local parts store didn't have the feather fill which I read alot of good thins about , we will see how it sands out tomorrow :waah: how do you like the feather fill ?

Love the Featherfill. Goes on easier and fills almost as well as Slick Sand. Got the front clip stripped and sent to the blaster this am, But like the idiot I am, forgot the cowl! :banghead: Boppa is coming out in the AM to run it to the blaster. Got a bunch of parts sorted to go to the cad plater later this week. Would be ready to go, but got too late to pull the pass door latch at the neighbor's, where Yeller is parked now. An interesting note, we've been running Yeller on no gas all this time to make it easier when the time comes to swap. I moved it over to put it in Donnie's garage, and it died in front of the door. Out of gas. I kinda took it as a sign, and a good one. Anyway, I also got my trailer lights fixed and Boppa was kind enough to put a proper trailer light connector on the LBT! Kinda happy about that too, as the lights on that trailer havent ever been right. Anyway, gettin stuff done, slow but sure!:two:

So, we're going to paint on the 21st of July. Cab and doors and bed are done and cut in. Swapping cabs this weekend. Front clip is done at the blasters, back home today. Took all the misc front end hardware including the special nuts and bolts to the platers along with the striker plates, door latches, hood hinges, bolts for the door hinges and all the tailgate hardware. Mad a smokin deal on a nice set of 8" Rallies yesterday, and the plater's BURNED TO THE GROUND LAST NIGHT. Seriously.

BAHAAHAhahahahah! So, heeeeeeeere we go! Sorry, just had to vent.

Thanks, the hoses kinda held it, we just tipped the rad back as far as we could and pulled the bolts out then slid the core support out. Bungees just for safety's sake. We have a four core going in, this ones been leaking for years.

Ugh, probably not. Been busy with other things.
Too tired to post pictures, but when I catch my energy I'll post up something.
No paint yet. Speaking of energy, I gtg and expel some energy now, before the 100 degree weather hits.
It's been nasty humid up here these last few days.

Just got a call from Boppa, just picked up a beautiful set of rallies with new tires for a great deal! Got a call from the plater, apparently the back of the building burned the worst and our stuff was up front. So there's hope.

Ok it's Sunday! I got the hood and fenders shaved, fixed the rust in the fenders and core support, and got everything in epoxy primer. Note: that epoxy is nasty, sticky crap. I prefer the etch, but the G2 doesn't, so here we are. Gonna start slingin' mud and bangin' some dents tomorrow. Boppa came out and helped with all this mess, and got the fuel pickup and fuel sender fixed up.

Fender rust-other one was the same way.

Well, it's been a fun week. We've got a lot done, but today we're off, cause it's gonna be 105 ambient, and that ain't good for anyone. But, we got a lot done!

First, we finished the gas tank hoses and routing. Well, we had to test it. Only one way to do that! Took 5 gallons at wide open on the nozzle. A note, I coulda walked up there buck naked through the neighborhood and gotten less attention. Wife said, "Is that illegal?" I said, "Probably. I'll be back in a bit."

To continue:

Notice extreme downward angle. This happens when your dumb ass doesn't remember to take the choke wire, and more importantly, the oil pressure line off before pulling the cab. We thought it was just a bit more weight on the front. Bad for the cluster, line and fitting. Oh well!

Yeah, the bad heat broke on Sun. afternoon. Now, it's just summer, not bad at all. If you're watching the baseball All-star game, I'm about 20 min. from the stadium to the NE. Last night was beautiful.

Ok, so the other day I had a reply all done and it didn't take. So, here's another one. Trying this again-

Here's the guts of the lump on the floor- a 700r4! As a non-transmission guy, this was a bit nerve-wracking. We got it done, though, with a kit from Bowtie Overdrives.

Annnnd, ta-daa! Cab is on, shifter linkage is welded up and rebuilt, crossmember is bolted in, cab mounts have all the bolts, etc.

Well, here we are today. It's Tuesday Morning. The interesting thing is, I have been messing with this truck for a good bit and still did'nt know how big a pile it was until we took it apart! We've been spending a lot of time fixing small but important stuff as it moves to its new place. Found some more rust in the cab, too, but I think some POR and some seam sealer will see us through, as the source has been welded shut previously. I'm trying to find a line between finishing a lot of stuff now and just getting it to stop go and turn. It's all interlayered at this point. One sees why a lot of projects stall at this point. This one shall not. It's gotta run, though, 'cause I need the garage to do the bodywork and prime. We'll get there. Here's up to the minute shots-

Finished up some stuff last night- brakes finished, painted some stuff with leftover POR, Trans finished, cab rust scrubbed and por'ed. New steering shaft damper. Kinda feels like progress.

Don't look like much, but this was a couple three hours. Later model gas pedal in a 68 cab. It was totally bodged into the other cab, but it worked ok. Now it's in on the factory fasteners, with much better geometry. Some Caplugs for the empty holes, and we're on our way.

Here's the interesting one. The shiny new pin at the center of the shot is replacing a bolt that was in there cockeyed and had no nut. 3/8 holes in the forks and 7/16 in the rod. Cut out the crap and bored it all to the same size and put a proper pin in it. This whole system is we think from a 73-76 truck, and even that ain't right. I'm kinda fixing the worst of it, as we don't have the bucks at the moment to replace it all with new proper stuff. It's worked for this long, we'l just touch it up good and keep rollin'!
