You will have to let the mph tell you its real potential.

What's your truck weigh?

I really have no idea. Everything is basically stock equipment. Guessing 4000-4200ish?

Glad you got it home and doesn't even have to try for a burnout, very nice. My kind of motor:thumbs:

Re: 496 to be DYNO'D!

We were running horrible timing in that video... Prolly 26 degrees. It is now locked at 35 degrees all the time, as per Mark @ Vortecpro's recommendation. Runs and responds much better!

Ya, it looked pretty guttless, ...so that means you set yourself up for another Canadian burnout...oh ya.

Come onnn, just one more burnout with the new timing, it's your fault cause you were bragging it runs wayyy better with correct timing.

We run 22 in my buddy's 69 Nova, works on that car not sure on a truck but even though the truck weights more it is not in the box area for sure. Going out of town for work all week so will look forward to the weekend, hoping for more.:metal:

Re: 496 to be DYNO'D!

I don't have anyone to do video of me driving the truck unfortunately!!! It pulls extremely hard though, breaks the 30x12's loose at 45mph, and gets 7mpg when I baby it... Couldn't be happier!!! Wont hit the track til next year... Getting body redone next month.. I will try to get some video before the snow flies here!

Best time of the day. First time I have ever been on a drag strip! Pleased, but know I have some issues to work out... Not getting enough fuel on back half of track etc...

Re: 496 to be DYNO'D!

I wasn't getting any power at the top of 2nd gear. Rev limiter set at 6300 and would struggle to get past 6000 in second. Think I have some fuel supply issues... Track opens again at the end of April, hope to have slicks, drag shocks, and my fuel issue resolved by then!!! What a blast!

Re: 496 to be DYNO'D!

Wow, nice run. You were out on the Camaro too. Hard work to make a heavy truck fast but seems to be a good start, lose some truck weight if you can, it makes a huge difference. Will be cool to see the diff when you get the issue's figured out.
Mudman.
