Thanks! Spent all night last night wet sanding. The whole cab is ready for paint as well as the doors, cowl, firewall, and a few other pieces. We are going to paint the inside of the cab, the door jams, and a few other pieces tonight when I get off work.

Spent all night last night scrubbing parts down, I used this new primer and the wet sanding crap stained everything... I ended up having to sand the areas that had stains on them and by the time I was finished it was too late to paint. So... I will give it another shot tonight. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to do this paint scheme. I'm painting the dash, steering wheel, and steering column the dark color and the rest of the interior the light color. I just hope I don't have problems with the tape pulling paint off... Oh well I'm gonna try.

cant wait to see how the paint turns out!!! stick the tape to ur shirt or pants a few times before putting it on that paint so it wont be very sticky!!!! that will help keep it from peeling

Thanks! I had some fine line tape laying around. I'm painting the dash and the bottom of the truck this color. The rest of the inside of the cab and the top will be the lighter gold color.

All these parts make the garage look small... Lol
I'm going to clean it really well before we paint the outside.

It's coming along, finished painting the rest of the inside of the cab, jam, doors, And door panels. The inside of the cab was not fun... Lol but it turned out well. This gold has some serious metallics in it.

What a nice way to start the day seeing some fresh paint pics!
Looks really nice man! I know you have been working your a$$ off on this and now all your hard work is showing!:metal:

Which iwata gun are you using?we have Sata guns for shop guns for sealer and the waterborne paint we use. We have an iwata supernova which is a nice gun too but I use my iwata lph400 daily and haven't used any other gun that lays the clear down nicer than an iwata. Keep at it buddy can't wait to see the outside painted up:chevy:

Makes me want to go out and start sanding the inside of my cab right now
And I like how it looks without the gas tank brackets should be easier when it's time for the speaker box:lol:

The gun I have is an LPH400 or 100. I can't remember which is which, one of those is a jam gun and it works nice too but the big gun lays down clear like no other. Thanks man, it's so nice to see this finally coming together.

Thanks guys, here's a few with it all untaped. I did the door jams like this because its two toned and I wanted the jams to match. It's a little different but its the only way I could come up with and still keep the interior the gold color.

I wasn't sure I would like the dash brown but I think it breaks it up nice and I think it looks killer. I'm going to paint the steering wheel and steering column brown also.

Very well done!! I love how the iwata sprays as well. It's amazing what a nice gun will do. I use to use the cheap guns then someone let me use there iwata. Wow

Sorry guys I haven't stopped working, I took a week off to make a table for a friend that passed away. It was auctioned off at his benefit and brought 3100 bucks for his family. I'm blown away that I could have a part in helping out, I made everything except the pin striping, I got the idea from one of the guys that builds similar things around here. Feels good to help out people in need. I was honored to be apart of it, I'll miss this guy RIP SID....

Re: My own build thread

I'm not sure what the hell happened but we fit the doors probably 5 times before I painted the jams and we tried to put the doors on last weekend and nothing lined up and it scratched the hell out of the door jams.... And to make it worse I bought the LMC door rubber and I can even close the doors because they are too thick. I ended up modifying the rubber but I'm not sure if its going to work. I may end up buying some from the steel rubber place. I've built a lot of cars and I've never had this much problem aligning panels as this truck.... Beyond frustrated... We will get it, it's just going 100x slower than I ever imagined. Good thing this is my truck and not someone paying me because I'd be broke...
