rained again today so had time to mess with the truck. I had 2 a/c vents from a 66 toronado and they have metal vent balls in them rather than the plastic ones the truck had so i decided to use them. When i took them apart i realised that they have baffles to turn down/off the single vent so i crafted those into my original vents. what do you think?

How did you I stall these shut off flaps? I recently bought the vent assembly from a 65 Buick wildcat and they use the same thing that you used from the 66 Buick but I can't seem to figure out how to take the flaps out of them to put them into the 67-72 vents..

The '67 only combo of a solid red interior on a black truck is absolutely my favorite color of all time on these trucks. I love the direction you are going with this truck! :metal:

I decided to texture my gm delete plate as well. not sure how it was factory as mine was all wore off. Dupli-color bed liner in a spray bomb is pretty much a perfect match to the original gm bezel if anyone wants to do this to their glove box and delete plate.

How did you get the new rod for the pull knob an the flap inside out? On mine it doesn't pull out either way :/

I bent and cut the original rod and made it fit. I am not sure if I did turn them around. I thought it was relatively easy. Maby buick parts are slightly different?

I haven't got all my boards done but just the outside ones so I can put the bed together. Here is a pic of the wood with the clear on it. hope to get the rest done soon.

One thing I did last week was change the shift/tilt knobs to 67 car style knobs. This way they all match my original style cruise control lever. I hated it looking mismatched to the rest plus it looks more detailed than the original round shift knob.

I am watching this one! I have a 70 GMC short fleet that I plan on having painted back to the original black. Just curious how it really looks. Everything you have done here is top notch keep it up man.

I started the rebuild on my starter. I had the housing powder coated but I found a hairline crack on the aluminum nose cone near the solenoid mount so I decided I am going to get a cast iron nose cone for it. anyone know a good way to keep the cast nose cone from rusting but keeping the natural look? Don't want to paint it as it may not ground well then.

I finally found mufflers that fit in my original 72 big block muffler straps and are 2 1/4" in and outs. I got them last week and for insurance I purchased a nos 20dn 62 amp alternator on Ebay as a back up for my original one. mine was originally on a 67 3/4 ton truck but I had it restored and am using it on this truck. I don't know how easy these are to find these days if one went shot.
