Got all the epoxy sanded off today/tonight. I will check tomorrow in better light, but I think I am almost ready for epoxy primer. I think it looks great...really wasn't that many cracks. My wife took a cool photo of me sanding it...

Anyway, so much better... :D

Thanks John...It isn't too hard, just LOTS of sanding. I probably slathered too much epoxy on, but I didn't want to have to redo any of the grooves.

I did most of the work with the dremel and a sanding disc....but I smoothed it all out by hand.

I think I decided to paint the wheel green to match the original color of the truck...which means I need to repaint my steering column pieces...oh well.

I bought the smallest jars they had at eastwood. I think they were 1/2 lb part A & B. They were $14 plus shipping.

Thanks I think it is going to be awesome when finished.

...I put some primer on it yesterday and it looked good but I found a crack I missed before so I am going to sand off the primer at that spot and cut a groove with the dremel and put some epoxy on it...no need in doing something 99%...

Ordered a new compressor tonight. Hopefully this is the last Compressor I will ever have to buy...I blame John for pushing me to the larger HP compressor. :) Thanks buddy.

Champion 7.5HP 80 gallon

Should make my life easier in the shop especially with my blast cabinet. I had a 1.7HP 33 gallon compressor. Now the wait begins for it to be delivered!

Frankentruck has not been graced with the beauty of air tools since my dad's air compressor broke a year or so before we got the truck :lol: Still haven't replaced it, so I've been learned the old school way of removing tight and rusty bolts, breaker bar and leverage

As I was putting clear coat on some carbon fiber parts today for a customer...I had some clear coat left over premixed...so I thought I would spray the cowl. Still needs to be polished, but I think it has enough patina to look good and go with the look of the truck I am doing.

Just got notification it is shipping today! When I bought it 2 days ago they said they had to build it...that was quick!

Good for you to learn old school days...so one day you can say, "I remember when..."

Thanks Scott! I appreciate it. I can't wait to get the compressor...next week I think. I bought 6/2 wire, junction box, and a 40 amp breaker today. I will get that wired to the panel and get the compressor wired when I receive it. Then I will need to plumb the compressor in my garage and then out to my work shed...lots of fun work ahead. Can't wait!

Kind of took this weekend off. Had to clean out the garage to make room for the new compressor....listed a whole bunch of BMW parts to help with the cleaning of the garage.

I have been sandblasting, but my old Husky 1.7HP compressor was obnoxiously loud and took forever to blast anything...so waiting on the new compressor to finish that.

I did however get the new front shocks installed before the rain started. One less thing to do. So now I have all 4 shocks replaced! A wise man told me...easier to do it now than later!

I know we had some storms last week but today is pretty here. I believe I heard loud noises and what feels like an earthquake coming from south Georgia.....Could it be someone is excited to get his new 7.5 hp Big Dog compressor today? LOL

Got the compressor couple of hours ago. It is a beast. It came in a crate and was too tall to fit in the garage. The ABF driver was kind enough to wait while I cut off the top of the crate so it would fit in the garage. I still had to lift the garage door slightly to get it in on the pallet jack.

Here is a picture of it...not in its final resting place, but close. I want to turn it and put it in the corner. Will have to invite some friends over for a beer then they can help me push it in place. Then I will finish wiring it up.

I got the wire from the attic fished down to the panel and connected to the bottom 40 AMP breaker. I have the wire in attic over to the top of the wall I am going to drop it down, but don't want to until I know exactly where I am going to put it. I used the recommended wire... 6/2. I have never used that thick wire before...it is stout. Since both wires in the breaker are hot, I marked the white wire with black marker for anyone in the future...even though the rest of the panel wasn't done that way. Tested the breaker and it matches the rest of the 240 breakers at 244v.

Can't wait to get it up and running in the next few days.

Haven't had time to do very much on the truck in the last week or 2. Finally had some time today to do a little something. I got back to the SW and repaired 3 cracks I missed the first time. I feel I was smarter this time repairing the cracks. I put tape next to the cracks so after I put the PC-7 on I could pull off the tape and only have the crack area to sand. Seems much smarter now that I thought of it! lol

Also got the cowl section painted today (finally). Had previously painted the firewall, but decided to paint the cowl section in the same green. I think it is going to look nice with the green under the white cowl cover.
