Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
Your first post said that you have a 3 speed column shift. That typically means a manual trans. There are links to half of my for sale threads in my sig line. All you have to do is click on where it says HERE in blue after the item you wish to see. Here is the for sale thread for the '60-'62 booster bracket for use with an auto trans.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
Pretty sure I just PM'd you for a 67-72 bracket quote. My phone was acting up. Can you let me know if you got it? Thanks.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
Because I'm impulsive, I'll just paste it here. Needing a 67-72 brake booster bracket for my 71 Blazer. I have a new 8 or 9 inch 63-66 style brake booster. I was totally screwed over when I bought this booster. Guy way over charged me and the box didn't have half the materials he said it did. It's also a floor shift. Just looking at the raw metal bracket. What would be the cost to send to 29414? And also timeframe? I have PayPal and Venmo. Thank you

I replied to your PM........

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
I'd like a 67-72 bracket in raw, do you have any ready to ship?
|
Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
No I do not have these sitting on a shelf waiting to ship. I have no time to build inventory. 95% of all orders are built as they are ordered and shipped. Right now I could build and ship your order on Wednesday providing the payment is received. I will send you a PM with ordering and payment info.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
That is correct. Not all S10's came with dual diaphram boosters. The same with any other application. Depending on how long ago you purchased the bracket, the current list of compatible boosters has part numbers for some of the dual diaphram boosters.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
I saw in another thread, someone had posted a whole sheet of GM PRO numbers for brake boosters. The JM3 reads booster, brake, 240mm high flow, while the JM5 reads booster, brake, 200mm high flow. I'm not sure what difference the milometer size has to do with anything. Also, would it be better to grab one of these boosters off of a early 2000's S-10 at the junk yard, or would it be better to buy one at a local parts store like NAPA, etc??
|
Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
I looked for an edit feature, couldn't find one. Anyway, RPO not PRO. I saw quite a few of the JM3 boosters in a local hard in early 2000's S-10 blazers. How much of a PITA are they to pull out of the truck?

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
Which is better, new or used, depends on your preference and budget. With a rebuilt one, you will need a core or pay the core charge. Pulling a used booster can take some time as there is quite a bit that needs to be removed before you can get to the nuts on the studs and the pushrod on the brake pedal. You will need a long extension or two and a swivel socket or a universal joint.
|
Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
The money doesn't bother me either way. I just wasn't sure if buying one from NAPA or another parts store was better or worse, based on it seems like replacement parts are sometimes pretty ****ty these days.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
In my experience the original GM boosters can last a long time. Hook one up to engine vacuum and see if it holds vacuum. If so, the diaphram is good.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
I was wondering if you ship internationally? And how much it is for the 67-72 booster bracket with hydraulic clutch conversation
|
Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
Yes I ship worldwide. The price for the '67-'68 or '69-'72 booster bracket with the hydraulic clutch conversion is exactly the same as in post #1 of the for sale thread seen here.
http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=652871 Shipping that large box to Canada is quite expensive. The shipping alone is about $64.00 USD. Many of my Canadian customers have a delivery address just this side of the border. Quote:

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
Being a fabricator I was a little hesitant to buy something I could make myself with a little effort. I received my adapter bracket (powder coated) in the mail and was very impressed with the quality of the bracket. Packaging, weld and powder coat quality was second to none. Thanks for supplying a quality product!

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
I'm interested in this bracket. It makes for a very clean setup. I do have a question. I have a factory tilt column that I bought from Kevsclassics. Looking at where the shift arm is in relation to the center-line of the brake push rod, an 8" dual booster might be a tight fit.
Can anyone confirm that an 8" dual booster such as the Inline Tubing unit http://r.ebay.com/dYzdyl will fit with the factory tilt column shift arm? Thanks! |
Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
From what info I have received from a couple past customers, you must use a booster that is smaller than 10" in diameter. If it were me, I would go with a 9-9.5" diameter dual diaphram booster.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
I also I wanted to ask if you happen to know if there is a major difference between hydroboost units.
|
Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
I have heard there are some differences but I do not know of anything major. All GM hydroboost units are interchangeable once the factory mounting bracket is removed.
