OK, here is the deal, and I don't want to sound like Debbie Downer. I'm saying this to everyone that is playing along. And honestly I really appreciate everyone that is putting them selves out there. And I'm pretty sure all of this is spelled out in Monroe's traveling box.

Monroe needs to be kept moving. Take him a few days, give or take depending if you have a Sunday in there. I realize this means some of you will have him at perfect times to do extra cool stuff, and other it will be cool stuff, just, with the family cool stuff. Which incidentally is most often the best times shared.

Guys please don't keep him extended periods. We have done this before on the board and we know how it effects the thread. And please send him to different states to keep it interesting. Obviously he will be in several states more than one time, just keep it spread out.

I think one of the mistakes I made this time is not putting board names on the labels. I figured if you volunteered, gave me the days you couldn't have a visit that was all the info we needed. But we have seen how that worked out. So I will be sending the board name info to special-K to add to the labels. That way the person that has Monroe can shoot a PM to the person he picks to send him off to. We already in the very short time this has been going had two people keep him a total of two months and absolutely no communication or pictures.

I hate having to post this in whats meant to be a fun thread. If this doesnt work out I have one more idea to make this fly. Im going to wait for the next few guys to filter through though.

Thanks!!!

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!

Grumpy offered Monroe to me next and I asked if he could go to someone else between so he would land here before I leave next week. Larry was to ship him on Saturday to assure he got here by Tuesday. He probably won't have him till tomorrow. I suggested just bring Monroe up. It means Larry has him a little longer but that's basically the days Monroe would have been in shipping. This may stretch the time that two members would normally have him by a little, but I was thinking it will also add a whole lot more members to being involved than just two for that time period. From the 14th till today Monroe was with two members. I figure he'll get to Gr8 68 on the 28th, that's two weeks. I'll be sending him off that Monday, so I think it all works out about the same. I didn't want to slow things down. I was thinking there would be plenty of content to keep this alive since there will be no "In the box" time between

I tried to keep Monroe away from the local "spring water " but it seems he found his own ...http://http://i957.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps3n394zca.jpg

He wandered around and found a few old trucks,

http://http://i957.photobucket.com/albums/a...psohqydrln.jpg

He even found my "stash" in the barn

http://http://i957.photobucket.com/albums/a...psgjk7sbks.jpg

He was checking out this 292

http://http://i957.photobucket.com/albums/a...psworfelma.jpg

And he wanted to sew some seats up but had a problem holding onto anything but his drink, err phone ,

He overstayed his welcome here - neither CG or I could get the members we were contacting to reply they were ready to take him. We had a few days dead time making sure he wasn't going to disappear again.

He got into some ol Grumpy "spring water" (see picture above )that stuff they sell is NOT real moonshine . the boys making their own have secret recipes and you really can taste the difference from one to the other .once you involve the government in the mix you take away from the real deal . The local stores sell the state approved varieties for upwards of $25.00 a quart +tax , Local "spring water" $15.00 and smooth as a babies bottom :smoke:

When Monroe was snooping around he found this 250 3 speed posi short bed project ,That was a $10.00 rusty air cleaner that came from the parts section .

I had a hard time keeping him from jumping into the farm truck once he found out there was a chicken auction on Saturday ...little booger grabbed my wallet and tried to hot wire my ride ! it's kind of hard to skate board across the pasture . we almost had chicken ala Monroe for dinner that night

That 292 runs great but is on its way to the machine shop for a total old school performance rebuild, tri power carbs , new cam and lumps ,stainless valves etc. I have a "few" projects going on .

Well good news, Monroe has arrived at the Belews Creek post office. My wife just texted me and said she is on her way to pick him up so he doesn't overheat in his box. I am sure Monroe is very hungry by now, glad we had chicken for dinner last night instead of tonight.

Chickens are cannibalistic little boogers , It's like having a bunch of little Velociraptors running around the place . we have June bugs still flying around and the chickens chase them everywhere .Crickets are fought over and a slice of bread starts an all out game of keep away !

Don't let him fool you - the bird can't read. He looks at pictures. And don't leave him alone with an open browser or you won't believe the pictures he'll be looking at.

This is true  not started, frame off, cab parts, I am sure he will have a blast on the C10 farm today, We are going at 9 this morning to pick up the new trailer (new to me) for the C10 farm and then we will be loading it up with parts to head up to Carlisle on Thursday.

Haha ,I'm going this morning to go pick up OL RUSTY and look at more parts and pieces and you can tell from the couple pictures with Monroe I already have more projects sitting in the barns and that's not even 1/4 of them ...it's an addiction !

Hello ? yeah I saw on Craigslist you have a 67 short bed for sale ? (Yep , it's sitting behind the barn burried in mud and rusty as heck ) Well that sounds great I'm on my way ....:chevy:

I hope Monroe is up to date with his tetanus shot.
