No panel came with a gate. They were all door models. Suburbans could be with either and looking at the numbers, it seems they were closely split between the two styles.

I believe Oshawa still has the records for Canadian built Chevrolet & GMC. They offer a package that you pay for after you give them your serial number. Photocopies of the Salesman's Data Book etc.

it would be interesting to know the production #s of Canadian built GMC 4 x 4 panels. I would wager that there were probably no more than about 40 built per production year. do you know how to obtain this info?

Here is my "new" 1964. Probably stay pretty busy with this one for a long while. No reverse, rear end = junk, a lot more rust than it appears.

You won't regret the motor choices. My 67 c10 has a 04 drive by wire LQ9/4L65 combo with a speartech harness and speartech reprogramed PCM. Has a ton of power and I am getting 16-17 mpg round town. I will know after this weekends trip to Indy Good guys what highway mpg I am getting. The plan is to do the same in the 66 suburban.

Thanks. yes I moved it to the other side just cause I am a glut for punishment. really like your steering box plate made that part of the build easy. also filled in the rear door license plate opening to run the newer bumpers.

ridetech airbags in the back, CPP drop spindles and drop springs in the front. Will be changing out the springs in front for airbags as well in a week or so.

Just got my 66 Suburban back on the road today. Bought it in November as a running driving truck. Then the motor blew and I decided to do a full mechanical rebuild. CPP 4 wheel disc brakes, 383 engine, 2010 Suburban seats, new CPP suspension all around, new steering box, bushings, and about a thousand other small things. It sits about 5.5" lower than stock with very little rake.

And yes, that's not an optical illusion. It has been shortened about a foot behind the rear wheels. The front turn signals have also been filled, rear wells tubbed, bumpers tucked and dash has been smoothed. All of that was done before I bought it.
