Re: Project Slo-Go 67

Thanks Guys. This keeps us going on the project.....

Geoff: I had that temper Years and years ago..... Then realized i had to replace what was broke....

Nate, he stays motivated for the most part. I think we are gonna try to bend up and install the fuel line sunday, as i am out of town wed-sat.

VA , it's been fun for sure.. I think he will respect it more this way, as he has his own blood, sweat, and tears in this project.

It's great that you and your son are doing something constructive together. Looks really good, hope he appreciates the time spent together. Never did anything like that with my dad, now he is too old for these projects, but not too old to tell me I am wasting my money on this build!

Thanks bro!. I think he appreciates it and respects all that goes into rebuilding one the more he does things. he use to say Im bored, sanding is boring. I said you can sand and we can make progress or it can sit here and never get done. soo he sanded of course , but he brings it up often. I am sure no one thinks sanding is fun, but it has to get done none the less. Oh BTW, if your tired of wasting $$ on your truck, send it my way and i will help waste it on mine :metal:

why did you remove your thread link, now your making me work!

Didn't he change his mind on the drop for his truck? Have you made any changes on that part, or waiting until the rest is complete?

Nate,

For now we will run the ECE 2.5/4 and once complete, adjust the altitude if needed, which i know he wants to go lower already ......

Re: Project Slo-Go 67

Re: Project Slo-Go 67

truck is really coming along, just love doin the blading on the laquer, you should keep that stuff, melt it and respray it, laquer never goes bad! but on the other hand i vote for new paint and make the little guy do some spraying, even if it is just primer, but gives him hope to shoot the paint, you never know how good he might be.

Update? on the color(s) you guys decide yet?

Re: Project Slo-Go 67

I think he has decided on Charcoal grey and gunmetal grey, similar to the pic that VA posted but a little different scheme. We have been working on the tailgate (welding the trim holes) so i should have the tailgate, hood and fenders to my buddys tomorrow or friday

I was hoping no one would notice the bondo.... I only welded two holes to try to fool everyone  I started sanding it down with 40 then 80, try to fininsh today but may just take like it is to my buddy's shop and let them do the finish body work. I need to invest in a stud gun soon....

Thanks for the kudos.

Cool...now your engine looks like Geoff's....

I really like that look. Looks tough and will fit well with the color of the truck (you could even paint the recessed areas with the darker of the shades to match the exterior).

I was going to let you know Edelbrock had the matching valve covers on sale, but I guess you don't need them, haha. It's looking good Heath.

Thanks guys, this keeps us motivated.... We finished cleaning up the tailgate (few dents and dings but a stud gun should work fine), and should get the hood, gate, and fenders to the body shop tomorrow....

Just could not justify fixin my tailgate. Mine is on CL for someone else to spend time on. Looks like alot of work ahead on tailgate.

How did the aftermarket gate fit, and what did it run you?

I have to pull the bed sides together about an inch with a come-a-long, but it looks like it will fit pretty well. Can't tell the true fit until I have the bed on the frame this weekend to mock it up. I got it from Outback for $325 (for the Chevrolet lettering). I live very close to them and they had it in stock. It weighs about the same as a factory gate and is very close to identical thickness etc.
