hello boyz , i need a little help deciding , as you know one of the downsides of stepsides is the lack of room for equipment , i lower the truck to its lowest point used a rod for driveshaft purpuse, i will be raising bed panel so i have room to put the tank as u see in pictures , no exhaust will go trough here as its going on the outside of chassis , i cant put it behind rear end as im inatalling gas tank back there , it does not fit anywhere near the sides of bed so i can make work where is at , thoughts please or have u guys seen anything else , thanks

thank's mike ill do that

raull 11-02-2011 07:49 AM

Re: 1971 c10 stepside

mike its on page 12 post # 294 , you have a 4link set up ouside the chassis i still have the factory bar set up so that wont work for me , bid advantage with fleetside i saw u have compresors , battery , tank and still have room for a spare engine , lol
thanks

Re: 1971 c10 stepside

Raul, Can you run it horizontal along the centerline of the chasssis? Its hard to tell with the angle of the picture. If you crowd it into the center toward the drive shaft then maybe have your brackets drop from the bottom of the bed cross sills. Just a thought hard to tell with out being there with a tape measure.

raull 11-02-2011 01:06 PM

Re: 1971 c10 stepside

thanks Bryce , cross rails are not on there so yes that may work been that no mufflers will be there , ill check later , thanks again

that was my thought... i think if it is close to your driveline and raised up you will have plenty room to clear you trailing arms

Hey brother I know that I have told you a thousand times but I Definetly want to thank you again for Putting your build on hold and helping me out on my bucket.

I am so excited on seeing this truck go to the next level. I know what a fantastic truck this is going to be and again can't wait to see your ideas become a reality.

Call you later!!!!!

I will treat her very nice.... Maybe even a new cowl hood.... I never really likes the fiberglass one that's on there.... Then I'd have to paint the hood... Touch up a couple of spots.... Maybe a stripe.... Color change? Air bags.... Bucket seats.... Oh no I'm screwed. Lol

I'm with you buddy mine will eventually get bagged as well but isn't in the cards right now so probably will be my next project after I'm finished building it. All these beautiful trucks like raull's and big al's make me really wish I could bag it sooner than later.

both you guys trucks are coming along awesome , air bags are mostly a stance for when its parked anyway , you can always add air later , lets finish all these trucks so we can hopefully drive them and meet some day

Amen to that brother eventhough you guys are a little far from me considering i'm in New Jersey  I'm kinda hoping I have a little problem since swapping my big block in on my small block front springs, then I would have an excuse to bag it  My father asked me "what are you going to do about the front springs, are you going to change them for big block springs", my reply was nope i'm not going to worry about them now. Little does he know my master plan

well keith i tell you what , if you are going to do it now its the time , its a lot easier at the stage your's and chad's are right now before you put the body parts on , it will slow the build some but at least you can have fun in the mean time going up and down everyday like i do
!!!!! lol lol
