Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Hey don, we have talked before about cruise control. I was looking at the schamtic and the cruise control switch goes to the BCM from the steering wheel controls and then the BCM sends the signal to the PCM via class 2 data. To get the cruise to work with these engines do you need a controler or can you just change the programing in the PCM the see the input from the dikota digital switch. I emailed dikota digital, but they don't seem interested in getting back to me.

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
I got a piece of the description and operation of the cruise control off of the GM website.
The body control module (BCM) monitors the signal circuit of the cruise control switches. The BCM relays the cruise control switch status to the engine control module (ECM) via the GMLAN serial data circuit. The ECM uses the status of the cruise control switch to determine when to capture and maintain the vehicle speed. The ECM monitors the vehicle speed signal circuit in order to determine the desired vehicle speed. The ECM uses the throttle actuator control (TAC) motor in order to maintain the vehicle speed. For further information on the TAC System, refer to Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) System Description . I'd post the schmatic but it is to big and if I resize it I don't think you'll be able to see anything. |

That's a mouthful! :D I have an 06 Tahoe motor and was told by Speartech that they could easily pull the wires for the Cruise to work a standard cruise control arm, FWIW. R |

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
ok, getting this thread back to the top.......the vettes dash was gonna be modded to fit this dash, but after looking at it and measureing the curved peices look good on the vette dash cause its small.....put the same curved peices on a truck dash, and they look small.....so keeping with that look im gonna make my own dash outta metal......so after cutting the dash appart, i welded in a filler peice for the whole dash, then bent up some tube stock round bar......to get the skelaton on the dash.....

anything new?
|
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
little bit of progress......working on the dash still here are a few pics, they are a bit dark, but you get the idea.....
i bent the hoop on the end of the center console, then braced the center section, rough cut a peice of metal for the center, and worked myself around useing clekos to hold everything in place......i then plug welded everything, and cut to shape.....ill get some better pics of everything up tomorrow http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1075.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1077.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1078.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1079.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1080.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1081.jpg |
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
here are some more dash progress pics..
made a templet out of cardboard, transfer it to metal, rough cut it out, trimed it a bit, then clekoed it in place.......and the same for the pass. side.....here are the pics http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1085.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1086.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1087.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1089.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1090.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1091.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1092.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1093.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1099.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1100.jpg |

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
very interesting concept... are the window defrost holes not centered on the original dashes? Are you gonna fill them in too?
|
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
not sure bout the defrost vents being sysmetrical, but they will be filled in and smoothed.....if you look carefully in the center of the dash i have a center line (in red) for my reffrence...

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
got the steering column in, its a ididit tilt, column shift, chrome, one... the mounting positon had to be slighly moved over, do to the underdashed brake setup... to do away with the bungy cord, the upper part of the column mounting bracket was made from a portion of exhaust tubeing..... here is the pics...
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1108.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1110.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1111.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1112.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1113.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1116.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1117.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1119.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1118.jpg |

Ooooh.....It's soooo shiny.......
|
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
I have a question about the mount on the fire wall side of the column. Where did ya get it and can it be used on a regular stock column?
|
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
i got it from summit racing....they are called a steering column bulkhead, the one i got is 2.25" round... but you can get them in 2" diamater too (stock column OD size).

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E

I'm diggin the dash too. |

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
a little update on the hulk, we're trying to get thing a roller....so i got a fo*d 9" and im in the process of narrowing, rebuilding, and smoothing....its gonna be narrowed 8.5" from the stock 12 bolt, or 50" houseing end to houseing end....
anyways here are a few pics http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1194.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1195.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1197.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1198.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1199.jpg |
