Re: Project Cod Fish

I use the ECE mount and just drilled a new hole for the stud worked great and will be plenty strong.

Re: Project Cod Fish

Energy suspension's aftermarket poly transmission mount has options to do either the one hole or two (3 tapped holes in the bottom of it).

Re: Project Cod Fish

also a turbo 350,400, or 700r4 trans mount will bolt to the 4l60e trans, and it can be mounted to the crossmember useing the 2 holes... or drilling the crossmember for the single stud mount, is the other option...

Re: Project Cod Fish

Thanks Rob and Don for all the pics, I'm installing the same engine configuration but I was unsure as to how all the accessories looked and the belt routing. somebody took all mine off and I had to buy all new brackets, alternator, power steering pump and idler pulley. Mine is a 6.0 and they are the same architecture. Mine is going in next week.
Great build!! and I'll be watching to see this baby get rolling!

Re: Project Cod Fish

That color is going to look sharp. In think paint time is probably the nicest part of any build.

Looking AWESOME!!! I'm sure you're super excited....I would have a hard time sleeping too...
Did you paint under the bed and cab or undercoat?

rob32472 01-28-2010 09:36 PM

Re: Project Cod Fish

Thanks! Decided to paint satin black.... no need for undercoat as I dont think she will be in the rain much..... Unless I get caught out while driving her

VA72C10 01-28-2010 09:41 PM

Re: Project Cod Fish

When you get a chance, can you show me how you cut it off under the bed and under the cab? Especially under the cab as I'm not sure how to handle the supports that run from under to on the firewall....The firewall on mine is totally smoothed and will be painted body color....will start the black undercoat at the lower firewall/floor seam, but those supports go down further under...

Re: Project Cod Fish

My fire wall was lizard skinned then painted over that.... I left the texture as I wanted a cool, quite ride...... as for the bed the tubs, and sides are body color the floor is black underneath

Well I have to say I am impressed with the body shop....... They mainly do collision work but love to do restorations..... It is a small family shop they have been great really communicated and have their ducks in a row! They had the body for only 8 weeks!
