Although I do actually pull a 24' tandem axle flatbed with a tractor on it. The 4.3 backed by a 4L60E with a 3/4 ton clutch pack and the rear end setup with richmond 3.42 gears and the powertrax I am not to concerned. and it still has enough power to get around fine. Only gets 13-14mpg highway when I am pulling big loads like that but otherwise it handles it fine! And no it doesn't bottom the suspension out even close.

it's not the power to pull a load that concerns me, it's be'n able to stop the load once it's move'n.

Haven't hauled a trailer with the S10 yet, but it sure stops better than my half-ton C10. Have towed a Corvair on a tow dolly with the C10. It stopped ok. At least the back tires grab some pavement with a trailer hanging on. With no load I almost can't stop without them skidding.

Driving in the rain yesterday it was hard not to spin a tire in the S10 on takeoffs.

Here's my 91 LWB I had for a little over a year back in 07. It had a 383, 700R4, bagged with a 3.5" body drop.

I'm on the forum for my '70 C-10 but here is the S-15 I built when I finished college a good while back... Shaved door handles, emblem holes, antenna holes, bumper bolts, convertible kit and 350 HP 355 V-8. Built 350TH tranny with a 3,800 stall converter and 3.73 rear-end. That was a fun truck! I used to give the 5.0 mustangs a lot of grief.

Thanks. It came out great. Kinda low key but dang it was fun to drive- I remember when I'd hit second gear hard (B&M race shifter) the rear of the truck would jump over 6". I sold it when I got into bikes (I got tired of how much it cost to keep this thing fed with premium).... My current bike is about done, not much for me to tinker with on it, so I got another truck. I'd like to do another S-10 for my kid but remember how hairy this one was to drive and don't want him to wrap one around a telephone pole. Man, back when I got out of it, they were just starting to shoehorn big blocks into them......

Sounds like it was fun! I sold my '93 ext. cab in January, but it had the factory 4.3L. I've always liked the 1st Gen. S-10's. I had an '88 2-door S-10 Blazer as well. Either of the ones I had would've been killer with a small block. I got back into a fullsize SUV planning for the future. I hear you about building another one for your son. Maybe you could go more mild and be okay. I don't have kids right now, but it would be cool to build another one in the future to give to him/her. Of course, they'll be really antique by then!

Are you still using the knock-off centers? Do you have any closer wheel pics of it with them? I have a similar set of rallies for my '97 Tahoe, & I've been debating on the knock-off centers for them. They currently have the solid baby moon type caps with bowtie engraved in the center.

btw, looks like a really clean Blazer! :chevy:

That was my thinking as well. Just keep the ones I have & switch them out from time to time. These are the ones I currently have:

Cool! Yeah I saw pics of that one in the '60-66 section. My rallies didn't have trim rings when I bought the Tahoe. Trying to decide if I want the thinner trim rings like John's '63 or the deeper dished style like your truck.

Anyone on here got/had a Typhoon? I currently have an 01 S10 Blazer and I'm starting to have some issues with the crappy aftermarket immobiliser they fitted to the UK spec versions when they were imported. Getting rid of it means a trip to the main dealer at £96/hr. I've been offered a Typhoon and would love one but what are they like to live with real world? I live out in the sticks up a dirt track.

Are they really that quick? Are they fun to drive? Whats the maintenance like on them?

This is my 2000 2wd S10 with a 4.3. Its currently sitting on jackstands with no suspension as I was in the process of fitting it with airbags. Due to circumstances I am putting it back together with just a static drop for now so I can drive it, and will finish bagging it later. Not much done to it right now other then small details for the bags, but I have swapped the hood for a GMC, got some leather passport seats to fab up, fixed a few little things here and there and redid the grille and installed new lights. Future plans...a roll pan, new front bumper, wheels, plasti-dip the truck camo green or paint it olive drab, and coat the bed in some kind of liner.

That looks like it could get exciting. Good looking truck. What kind of times does it run? My guess would be mid to high 8's. Just a guess not knowing any details.

Hers mine. Built it over the last 15 years just got my drive train out of my late model circle track car. When I quit racing I had my new built engine and tex racing 4 speed. Found a home in my s10. Bad fast truck but not so much a daily driver anymore so I started my 67 stepside project.
