A few more items to scratch off the list. Got the upper radiator mount fabbed up and installed. Also, the radiator catch can is installed and plumbed. Finally, the front grille got covered in basecoat then cleared.

A bit more progress to speak of. Being im running a Vintage Air control panel, I went ahead and machined aluminum knobs for the light and wiper switches. While still different styles, they blend well. Also got the steering system all hooked up and functional.

Here's todays progress in a nutshell. I got the backside of the grille sanded smooth before spraying it with a 20% gloss black urethane. It had a good bit of base and clearcoat overspray on it. Looks much cleaner now.

Once the back was dry, i riveted the upper and lower grill extensions in place. Be sure to use aluminum rivets on this or you'll eventually have rust stains running down your new paint. The only 3/16 rivets i had on had were aluminum but with a steel mandrel. Not to worry, one the rivet is in place, the mandrel serves no purpose and can be driven out with a pin punch.

The grille extensions were powder coated in a 50% gloss black as opposed to the 20% on the radiator support and inner fenders. This will make it a little easier to clean up as opposed to the matte finish elsewhere. Its not enough of a different contrast to be really noticeable.

Finally finished installing the molding clips and got those bolted in place. Those lil clips are a fight to get in place. My fingers hurt like heck, but it was worth it. I'm pretty stoked with the fit and finish of everything ! :chevy:

Well Bill, if the Good Lords willing, it will be at our St. Francisville meet in August . Won't be 100% complete , but we'll surely back her off the trailer this year. Next stop will be CTC in October. She'll surely be rumbling down Beach Blvd. by then !
