Heres a cool old GM archive video on the 1963 truck line. Has tons of good reference pictures in it.

And a couple for the GMC guys...including a prototype V6 emblem that was never used. This is the only picture I have ever seen of this prototype emblem.

And that engine display is pretty neat, too. |
Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
So would I A.T. RockDriller. I'll continue to dig and see if I can find any other images of the emblem and trim package. Looks to me like its maybe 5-7" wide? The trim really looks cool the way it flows with the fender.
Ive contacted GM Authority to see if they have any more pictures of this truck and the trim. |

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
Hey, I had seen a video on YouTube about that double V6 GMC engine running and tought that someone slapped two together, never thought it was reality. Dig the pics 1963c-10, really a big eye opener.

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
No problem. I have a couple of other pics of the "twin 6" i can post tomorrow. I don't know why they GMC nicknamed it that....v12 sounds much tougher in my opinion. It does look like two v6 engines bolted together, but its a 1 piece crank.
There is also a whole thread here on the 60-66 board on the v12's. Even a c-10 with one installed. Pretty cool thread. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=254111 I like the older pics because of the differnt applications....same as today. Most are internet finds over the years from different searches, most I didn't rename so they are mixed up with different projects and stored pics, so I pull them aside and have been posting them when i get 20-40 batched up. Some people have found pics close to home, one person found an old family pic i belive...but most are anonymous. Would be cool if we had more info on some of them. |
