Oh lordy! How did that happen?!

Re: Project Platinum C10
It's normal.
Don't freak out. Chevy put it there to clear the massive cat back in the day. There are threads on here specifically regarding that part of the frame. It is normal. I know I freaked out when I first saw mine. |

Re: Project Platinum C10
The PO took out a leaf spring and it sat about 1" lower, and I would have had to replace the springs to do a flip kit. I just installed a set of 2" shackles. I think I still need a bit more so I am going to get a set of hangers, I think it needs another inch or two. What do you think?

I went and talked to the paint shop yesterday evening and I have to drop my truck off July 8th to get started. I'm super excited!! :metal::lol: I have attached some pics of his work. I think I am going to strip the truck down (Trim, interior, grille, etc...) as it will save me 400$. The paint in the picture isn't wet sanded and buffed, just straight paint and clearcoat. I am going to get my truck wet sanded so it will remove any orange peel. Oh and please excuse my ugly mug! lol

Re: Project Platinum C10
That's going to look even better since it'll be wet sanded! :metal:
Hey that's how i dress for work too, actually could pass as a golf outfit. |

I love the grey that's on my Accord it kind of looks like that Gun Metal color it has a dark tint to it, but when the sun hits it, it has a a little bit of shine to it. |

So I was near the tire shop yesterday and stopped to look at my rims because I hadn't actually seen them yet. Snapped a pic while I was there.

Re: Project Platinum C10
I am not sure where I found this pic but I think it would look nice with the two tone like this, lighter on the very top and bottom and darker on the doors hood, ect. I threw one pic in for fun< lol

Re: Project Platinum C10
I don't know how you can stand to have wheels and tires at the tire shop and not on your truck. I know you're trying to wait until after paint but that would drive me crazy

Also I love the fact that truck has the factory trim! Could be one of my favorites I have ever seen. Setx, it's hard trust me. I've thought about having them put them on so I can ride around town.....lol

Oh and did I mention I added the 1/2"spacer under the driver side coil spring and replaced the shocks. Well one shock that is as I stripped the nut on the lower control arm. I have to get a tap to re thread it. :( I was so disappointed in myself for having that brain fart!

Don't beat yourself up, it happens to the best of us!

Re: Project Platinum C10
I think I'm going to take the lower control arms off and grind off that keeper the spring is sitting on. It's suppose to catch the end of the spring but if I put the end in the keeper it doesn't sit right in the upper bucket. Not sure what to do.

Re: Project Platinum C10
Making some progress. Don't let the little stuff bother you. If we didn't make some mistakes along the way and learn from them it wouldn't be nearly as rewarding when we finished.

Re: Project Platinum C10
So did the spacer get you ridin right? or are you still gonna try the spring keeper?
