Chizzler you are doing great work. Tunnel and firewall look great. Just to let you know, I had Ken Wolkens do my harness work. I also had a reference of his do my ECM and TCM work. Cranked my engine this weekend and it fired off first try with a couple of wires.

That is great. I would love to see some pics of how it all went together and what was needed to fie it off.

Made it out to the shop yesterday. More tunnel and floor work. Making the tunnel round not square will allow it to be much tighter. I need all the room i can get for pedals. Overall fit is good with the new low back buckets. Plenty of room between for a console. We cut the section of floor out that was added to stretch it and will be building a better floor structure. You can see the turbo down pipe is right at the bottom corner. Going to get a aftermarket pipe and try to cut and turn it to pass over the frame right at the toe board. Its gonna be tight. Thanks CHIZZLER

Awesome work.Great to see progress .No matter what space always seems to be a premium when squeezing in all the needed go fast stuff.

Todays progress. We got the middle cab supports in place with energy suspension poly mounts and made a weld on mount. We started building a new floor support. The original pieces they welded in when they stretched it were not great. We came off the front to back floor supports and made a inner structure that now is closer to the middle and has a drop down under the driveline. We also added supports for the front bucket seats. The sheet metal was left long in the middle till we build the tunnel. CHIZZLER

Well Chizzler, I just spent as long as it takes to go through all three your build threads.

And all I can say is Man, you are very good.

I love your vision and execution.

I sent off my massive van harness in a big contractor trash bag and it came back in this small box.
http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/a...psq554treu.jpg

He did a great job cleaning it up to minimal wiring.
http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/a...psx8kdzp62.jpg

All the engine required to crank were 3 connections. This was just a quick test before I took the engine out of the donor frame. I had a single ground, 12V constant power, and 12V switch power to the fuse block.

http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps3kj5a50p.jpg

There are other inputs that are required like TCC, WTS & CEL lamps, etc but it being a quick test didn't require it. I didn't wire up the solenoid wire. I just jumped it out to the power terminal on the starter.

I would definitely recommend Ken at Standalone Solutions. He worked with me since my harness was from a van and I wanted to retain the 4L85E. He was fair priced and quick. I'm not one to endorse someone often but this harness work cost a chunk of change and I am pleased with his work.

Little update. Floor and tunnel are closed up. Next get back seat mocked up from duramax donor. Got a 14 bolt 6 lug rear axle with 3:42 open for $75. Going to look into narrowing it and packing it with a posi and 3:73 with disc brakes. CHIZZLER

Great progress! Thanks for sharing the hydra boost assembly picture. I'll be working on my truck this weekend. Is that the master cylinder from the Duramax truck donor? I'm think I might go with the CPP with built in restrictors.

Master is from the astro van. Going to go with a smaller design. Either CPP or similar.

Radiator shower up from PRC (performance rod and custom). I had them upsize the lower water neck to 2" and weld in -10AN fittings for trans. Spal s-blade fan. Also got new 14 bolt weld on trailing arm mounts from captain fab. Thanks CHIZZLER

Little update. Got the new intercooler and radiator fit. Overall went together well. Had to modify core support bracing around original radiator opening for the intercooler to sit back in it to fit behind grill. Had to cut very bottom lower bar of grill to clear. Nothing visible. Very hard to tell There is any thing behind the grill with a black intercooler. Also got the boost tube piping kit and the piping to rework the water inlet/outlet connections on the motor. Thanks CHIZZLER.

Today we got some work done. Made both side's of the boost tubes. Got the new wilwood master cylinder and proportioning valve in place. Also got the steering column hooked to the rack and pinion. Had to cut the column down about 5" and installed a new bearing at the end. Also got the lower water hose built. We then started playing around with idea's for the front inner fenders and came up with a mock up for know. Thanks CHIZZLER.

Advanced Design 03-20-2016 11:12 PM

Re: 1961 Crew Max

Man that looks good! Where did you get the tubes?

CHIZZLER 03-20-2016 11:29 PM

Re: 1961 Crew Max

The boost tube kit was a universal aluminum kit from ebay. It came with everything needed and was more than enough. We used 3" cast aluminum 90's at the intercooler and tig'd it all together. It was thicker tubing at 2mm. I then ordered separate hump style silicone couplings to make the connections at the intercooler and turbo. The lower water hose is cast aluminum 90's with a piece of 2" aluminum piping.

Re: 1961 Crew Max

The pipes look great. Will the hump style couplings give enough flex for the vibrations? The inner fenders like that will give you a great spot to put tools when working on the truck.
