I’m curious to see these panels installed. They look great, is that an original heater delete panel beside them?

Right on. I'll post a pic when I get them installed. Yeah, that's an original heater delete plate.

Re: project "C10 Fever" (68 factory black 396 swb)

Well hello there Brian.

I’m hoping to have some updates soon, coincidentally.

Still at the trans shop since my last post. Supposedly it was finished a while ago but wasn’t shifting right so the shop is troubleshooting.

Here is my punch list once I get it back:

*Fix oil leak
*Valve tick pass side
*Fine tune timing/carb
*Change oil
*Alignment
A-arm clearance
A-arm touch up
Finish/install ac delete plates
Replace lamp harness
Reassemble fenders, grille, hood

Re: project "C10 Fever" (68 factory black 396 swb)

Well the shop is done with the truck. Turns out the valve "tick" was my rocker studs coming loose. Got that fixed. Should be getting the truck home next week so I can start working on getting the front panels installed.

Well, after a very very long time, I still haven’t done much. I did pull it out and hose it off. I installed my custom AC delete plates.

I’m actually going to remove my fawn interior and install new red vinyl. I’ve been wanting to do that for a long time, just needed a little nudge so here we go….

Thanks! I have never had a great imagination (engineer brain). I have contemplated going red for a couple years, but I had no idea how much I would love it. :)

Interior is complete except for the seat. And one grayish brown wire under the dash, I can’t remember where it connects. I took apart the cluster to put my speedometer back in place, since it fell off during cam break in. Lol

Well I went to check out my seat at the upholstery shop. They did a VERY nice job on this seat. Smooth and tight. Except they had a miscommunication on the insert material. I had brought in my door panel, and they found matching material to make the inserts match the panels. But they ended up using something random. Still looks good, just not what I wanted.

They offered to fix it, which was great. The only issue is they will have to make the insert areas wider. Which is actually good, I think they need to be a little larger anyway.

The complete buddies moved along to Sacramento in an orange 68 stepper. Logically I should have done that, but I just wanted a bench. :)

Made my seat track connecting rod today welding up a couple 3/16" rods. Tried to duplicate the factory setup as close as possible...

Should get the seat installed tomorrow, and start installing the fenders and grille.

This truck deserves more attention than I’ve been giving it. I just ran out of steam.

My 11-yo daughter is really wanting to drive it when she turns 16, so we decided we would work together to get it across the finish line. It’s sooo close…

Today we installed the headlamps, wipers (OEM from the board that I buffed up), and bumper brackets.

More to come soon hopefully.
