Thanx Bill...:mm: Spent almost 3 years just east of you in Biloxi from 78-81... I really enjoyed the coast...:metal:
One of my fellow mechanics, a local, had two Morris Minors that he restored... And my boss restored Nash Metropolitans... ;)

My grandfather had a '61 Metropolitan restored, which I'll soon be taking possession of. He actually promised it to my wife.

I still work for the USAF at Keesler. Been here since late 85 (3rd time) this time . Every time I tried to leave the AF brought me back, so I quit trying and now am used to the place. I still prefer my mountains and hills, but my old body is not taking to the cooler/colder climates anymore.

Last time I visited Keesler was in '01… was a stopover on the way to Daytona Beach Florida for a family reunion...to visit a friend from Portugal who was there for training. ;)

A bit of truck time put in today...:mm:

Started working on the seat brackets today… I sourced a bench seat outta a '75 square body and the brackets from the '72 seat that was totally trashed will fit the mounting holes so…
Here's the seat slides bolted to the rear of the seat…
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5820/...8fbd6299_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

Extension added…
https://farm1.staticflickr.com/707/2...2925d38b_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

After welding the first slide, I started on the 2cd and after these tack welds, the wire on my welder ran out...:sumo:

https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5813/...0f128f58_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

I loaded the flux core wire that came with the welder and finished the 2cd slide..
I neglected to get pics, but the slide for the pass side of the 72 was missing the adjusting lever that is pulled from the driver's side, so I am in the process of fabbing that piece… Pics as soon as I finish it…

Once the adjuster piece is fabbed, I will set the seat in place to see how it sits with the extension… I may need to rework the front mounts as they may sit a little higher than I anticipated when adding the extensions...

Looking good Don. Funny thing I just redo my seat as well and when I pulled the cover off of it, it still had the original seat cover on it. The back was in nice condition but the bottom was junk. Still pretty cool to see the original on still there.

Nice work there Don. Progress is a good thing. Hey I was just in that Harbor Freight store this morning. Had a dental appointment at the VA and just hate to pass and not stop at that store even if its just to look around.
Keep up the good work.
