Did you buy the chrome mirrors new or have them replated?

I bought them from another board member on the parts board a few months ago.

Today, I only replaced the glove box arm. My old one did not have a good rubber stop and the new did. so I wired wheel the new one and painted it black and mounted it on the truck. I did get my new order ready for ordering. I have to wait until 1st week of the month.
A friend of a friend is coming over to install the wind shield this week. Then I will have all my glass back on the truck.

I didn't do anything on the truck today. Yard work and I went and purchased a 1996 Sub for parts. New tires and a flat belt system. A ton of extra parts went with it. 350 engine a transmission don't know what kind yet. Anyway it will give me a lot of cool stuff for my 68. It is only a parts truck no paper work.

I pulled the old truck out from under the cover for the first time. I said pulled still haven't cracked the engine. Me and the boys gave it a good bath. dust was all over the truck. Now it shines again.

Re: 1968

Guys let me tell you about Dahos he is a member and I asked him for a glove box latch and a HEI distributor lead wire. Well he sent it to me and didn't even charge me, it was a good item. So if you have any thoughts of dealing with him. Let me put you mind at ease, he is a stand up guy.
I painted the latch and installed it on the glove box and it works great. I also mounted the round rubber on the column to the dash. and the bottom bracket for the rubber. I also painted the metal part of the sun visors, in place. Now everything looks great.

Re: 1968

kowboy63, and matt everything is as good as it can get. 65 and still working on these trucks. A minor setback with my back. Got to take it a little easier. But look on the bright side all the hard work is done. If a person thinks he or she has it bad, then take a trip to a VA hospital. There is bad in all colors.

Waiting on parts. The check is in the mail. Ever heard that. Still nursing my back. but better now. so I guess it is wise that the parts did not come yet. For I am getting in a hurry now.

Today I received one of my parts. Back up lights for a step side bed. Well, they were wrong to say the least. I hope I can return them for a refund.

that just sucks. hope you can return it

Re: 1968

There will be a refund, but the lights will not have to be returned. thanks Dean
Today I painted the backing plate for the step side back up lights.
I painted the angle strips for the bed (supports for the wood floor). after I drilled and square holed the holes for the stove bolts.
I am trying to find a place local to have the angle covers chromed and the bed strips.
I will post pictures tomorrow.
