Indeed! Hey, elpound: What paint did you use? I'm going with red it looks like on mine...in a month or so. Just curious what you used and how you gunned it on...?

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II

Quick Question. I recently started a new build on a 68 c20 Custom Camper. Internals and functionality is flawless but the body leaves something to be desired. Indiana truck...what can ya do?

I have an opportunity to purchase a good looking parts truck very close to home. 69 c20. The price is right. Will all of the body pieces fit my 68 c20 custom camper frame? Doors, hood, front and rear fenders, bumpers, bed, etc?

I am a beginner and really don't have the capability of pulling the motor, otherwise, I would obviously do the opposite and just transplant the organs.

Any advice you have would be much appreciated.

Thanks

As long as the bed is the same (short, long, stepper or longhorn), the sheet metal should be interchangeable as far as I know. If you change the front though, I think you have to change the whole clip (fenders, hood, core support and grill).

Okay. That is kind of a bummer. I love the clip of the original 68, but I have a large dent under the E in CHEVROLET. The fenders and cab interchanging will be a big help though. Rust free truck without anything under the hood for 350...can't beat it.

ap2002 Didn't notice you had put something about the truck. Thanks for the compliment. It would be nice for alot of us from the houston and surrounding areas to get together. They have a couple of shows a year in kingwood for classics. I went last year with Original71. He has a beautiful 71.

Doesn't get a whole lot nicer than that one.....just beautiful.
One of the prettiest color schemes that ever was built.
Certainly a step up from any assembly line product.

Dang!

I had my rally caps installed today - had to wait for the tire store to get the right lug nuts to install them. Everything is finished with them, except the beauty rings do not match. I'm having another source get me a pair of rounded aluminum ones for the back wheels to match. However, the nice weather today prompted me to get some pictures, so here they are!

El Rondo, Its Gunned Satin. The P.O. did the work, was gonna Rat Rod it somewhat. It does have 3 small dents that were not taken care of before paint. Will take care of them. The P.O. said to his knowledge it was an AZ Truck, and the undercarage and body look the part. Didn't get much windshield time last fall. Winter came early in Michigan, and it still has its grip on us.

The truck came out of the factory with a 327, but has a 350 now and power steering with drums. The P.O. put Firestone winterforce skins on it because he was gonna run it all year but felt it was to nice of a truck to put it through the winter salt on ours roads.
