Re: My Facetruck thread.
Earlier this week we had snow forecast, then mixing with freezing drizzle... nice! We didn't get the 4". More like 1/2", but we did get the crunchy stuff. Now it looks like another 4"er is forecast come Sunday. Then it's "wintery mix" on Monday and more snow on Tuesday. Yes, winter is here.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
We were all geared up for "The Big One"
Nothing happened. It's cold. But not that cold. And I can see patches of blue skies. The weather people don't know what they're talking about. |
Re: My Facetruck thread.
Our next snow is coming from a storm coming into CA and straight across. Supposed to start snowing Sunday morning and snow until Tuesday morning. They say sleet and freezing rain Monday for Baltimore but it looks like Snow here, so all snow. Sunny tomorrow (cold). I'm going hiking on the C&O Canal

Good times. If I can go fishing with my kids and grandkids, it ain't about the fish anyway.
My grandson was wishing a few minutes ago it was warm enough to ride his horse. (File Photo) |

Took my oldest grandson for a ride through the Buffalo National River Park and up to Compton Mountain yesterday.
He was disappointed there wasn't more snow. I was fine with it. It's colder than a well diggers shovel today. |

I don't let the snow bother me. It always goes away. Well digger's shovel, ey? I'll have to remember that when being proper is in order :o. Now I will say I don't like being cold! I'm sayin', got to have the right clothes on or everything sucks!

Re: My Facetruck thread.
Tim, somehow "colder than a witches broom" didn't have a ring to it.

It's "Colder than a well-digger's "'donkey' in the Klondike", where I'm from. :D

Us big tough grown men have been brought up to stand tall and tough it out. But when it comes to snow all that changes. Grown men whine about it while the little ones can't get enough of it

Same here. I remember my mom would put a towel on the cast iron radiator and I'd sit on it to thaw my butt out with fingers and toes stinging and burning terribly. Then I'd go do it again. Sledding on and on running back up the hill with the feet all numb

Re: My Facetruck thread.
I haven't talked to her so I don't know what they did with the horses. I'm guessing the Agri Dept had a place.
I talked to one of the other grandpa's this morning, and they rode quite a bit after school. She just started driving last month. Her daddy asked her how she was going to get her horse down to the place they rode from. She said "I'm going to hook the horse trailer behind my truck and haul it.". He followed her all the way down just to make sure she made it. |
