Sheepdip - Thank you. They turned out a bit better than I had hoped in the looks department. Been three years to get to this point. Still some things to finish up before I just enjoy driving it but nice to be able to jump in it and actually drive it. |

Ok, not something done to my truck but... this past Saturday...
I think the artist really captured my truck well. If you're in or near Jax FL, David Cappella is the MAN! https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/i6...4-JHD7PLQ=w900 |

Not today...but a few days ago, I relocated my windshield washer jug to the driver's side, removed the dealer installed under dash A/C system and heater core/fan box cover and installed the two firewall block off plates. I mounted an Edelbrock fuel sump pump on the block off plate as a start for when my back ordered Pro Flo 4 gets here in August. I purchased my block off plates from Full Custom Fabrication and I'm really impressed with their product. I opted for the "No Holes" option as I want to use a bulk head for the Heater and A/C hoses when I decide on which aftermarket system to go with (heavily leaning towards Classic Auto Air). Now I'll remove it all to prime the bare metal and one day a ways in the future, pull everything out and make a clean and tidy engine bay.

I "tried' to move my 70 CST. My buddy bought my 5th wheel. He's picking it up tomorrow and I it's a little tight to clear the gate with the truck parked where it is.
Truck has NO brakes. And I mean none. It's not moving. Well it'll move. Runs fine. It just won't stop. Not at all. We have to go to plan B. I didn't have time to fool with it tonight. It got dark and tomorrow is another day. The trailer might clear. But it's going to be a tight one. I guess I could just use the emergency brake to stop the truck. But where's the fun in that? I like to make things more difficult than they should be. |

I painted my doors and orange peeled the crap out of them. So I get to redo them, lucky me.
Lesson learned on the second coat. Go for a medium coverage and not a light coat. |

I had been searching for a Fold Away Bumper Step it seems like forever and always seemed to hit a dead end as far as actually getting my hands on one. A couple of weeks ago I hit gold! And believe me I paid gold for it.
I finally made a phone call to a wholesale distributor on the east coast and he agreed to sell/ship me one. No more dragging the milk crate out to check my air filter and other hard to reach spots, any of you vertically challenged guys like me will understand. And Made In The USA to boot! I did have to machine some hard plastic spacers 1-1/2" thick then bevel back 1/4" to fit for the bottom to offset it to level when open and drill 2 holes in my bumper for the bottom bolts w/spacers. The countersunk flathead screws provided, which make the standing surface flat were to short to mount the license plate and license frame, I have yet to pick some up and just used bolts and nuts for now. Works very well, solid and strong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FDF-3fuyCQ |

New hoses the 5/8ths heater hose burst in the driveway . Not soft or cracked but had no idea how old the hoses were . Also found why my passenger side inner fender was getting oil on it . Thought it was the valve cover but it turns out the oil is coming out the vent hole on the fuel pump . Have to get one this weekend

Finally got the rims and tires mounted on my truck! I painted the rims white and the tire shop did a phenomenal job mounting the tire on the rim!! NO SCRATCHES on them at all. They also balanced the tire by putting the weights on the inside and outta sight. Getting there a little at a time. I also met a guy at the tire shop who was complimenting my truck and he said he has several of these trucks, if I needed parts to go over! Yeah!!

I finally got around to putting my glove box back in, after about eight years. Of course I forgot how it goes back in and I lost all the bolts. After messing with it for awhile. I came back to this site and googles glove box install. The first thing that pops up is GoPapa having the same problem. After reading it, I had it back in in 10 minutes. Most of you don't realize how GREAT this site is for us mechanically impaired people.
thank you mike |

The 15x8 rally wheels I had on the front of my truck were rubbing on the fender openings when I'd hit a dip in the road. Lolife recommended Stockton Wheel to have them reduced to 15x7, so that's what I did. They cut the centers out of a set of 15x8s and welded new USA-made hoops on them. Took them one week. Finally installed them today.

I've got a few different projects going on with my truck at the moment. Replacing inner/outer rockers is one of them. I noticed the cab wasn't lining up with the bed at all a few days ago. DS was ~1 low, PS was fine. I was worried something moved while I had the cab cut up. A few days later I went out and measured the body mounts on both sides, they were identical (~2" for the rears). As I was scratching my head I walked around the truck and noticed the PS was now ~1" low as well.
New body mounts fixed it right up but I'm still a little puzzled why both of the rear cab mounts collapsed ~1" while sitting in my garage after 54 years of driving around. Seems unlikely, but I looked at some recent photos, and they seem to confirm I'm not losing my mind. It was sitting just fine a few weeks ago. In other news, I finally got catainfab's booster mount and PS frame adapter installed. Both of those items were $ well spent and I'm sure saved me a lot of work & head-scratching. |

I'm not really getting off to a fantastic start with my brake lines. I spent about 4hrs making the two short lines that connect the master to the prop valve. And yes, I did forget to put the fitting on once, and then put the wrong size on the next try. Decided it was time to cool off and try again another day.
