A new set is 4.00 plus 3.95 shipping. 7.95 I might as well as look and see if I can find a piece of this rubber and try and make a set. The worst that can happen is that I can't. and I am in no worse shape.

Took the holiday off and spent it with the family. It rained here every day this week. We had dime size hail and winds up to 45. Maybe next week will be better.

Dean/ swamp rat you only get one chance in life to show the family that matter. My oldest which is 9 helped me with building a outside swing. (Honey doo) I let him use the cordless drill. with me watching of course. drilling pre holes for the screws on the swing. These boy are what you call special needs children. they have special needs like all boys.
Here is a picture of the swing thus far with out the arm rest. another day and wifey will be happy.

My door handle gaskets are two years old and dry cracked. Truck is inside 90% of the time and is never driven in winter, they came com LMC. I hope you find better quality ones than what I got.

swamp rat, Kerry, Nick. Started on the arms on the bench seat and something hit me like a ton of bricks. I got so sick, it must have been something I have eaten. I only got one arm done before I called it a day. I enjoyed working with the boys. I will finish it tomorrow.

Today, I finished the Honey doo outside swing.

Re: 1968

That was quick. Glad you're feeling better.

Hopefully you don't put cushions on that bench or it will be do comfortable you never get the truck done. looks good, though.

Re: 1968

George, when you finish your truck, I bet you'll sit on that swing and stare at it. When I got my truck back together, I used to just sit in the shop and look at it sometimes.

gdavis 05-31-2014 08:20 PM

Re: 1968

no cushions don't want to get to comfortable. I did that very same thing. I sat in the swing yesterday and was looking at the truck.
thanks guys I am taking a break on the truck. I almost got burnt out, I said almost. I need to save some more money so I can hopefully get in my last order, I said hopefully.

I take breaks all the time. Haven't touched the truck all week. Sometimes other things take priority.

You can see the finish line George, if that doesn't motivate you nothing will. Where are you at mechanically, are your brakes and steering done? What do you have left to do on the engine and drivetrain?

drive line is 100 % done
engine is 99.9 % done. need to order and mount the carb but that is in the works also. I found a edlebrock with electric choke I am rebuilding it.
drive line is 100 % done
brakes is 100 % done
Steering is 100 % done
steering column is 100 % done shifts like a brand new one.
I still need the wiring harness, but that is in the works soon.
exhaust needs to be installed. I will trailer it to a shop and let them do it.
front and rear bumpers needs to be ordered and mounted.
