Went to look at this 67 CST 327 auto ps pb air big window lwb with my father as he's getting the itch for a c10 again after I bought mine. Described as having "some rust you can fix or drive as is" and being running and driving. Turn out to be a bondo special with nearly every panel needing replacement or patch work including everything from the kick panels down on the cab. The cab supports were basically nonexistent and a few good bumps would knock the cab clear from the frame if you dared to "drive it as is". All for the low asking price of $5500. Unfortunately dad isn't too keen on buying something not in front of him but I think I'm wearing him down on going Roadkill style.

Growing up in the rust belt (Ohio) myself I certainly can sympathize. Live in the North Carolina now. I've lived here for the last 26 years. When I first moved here in 91 you couldn't drive a block without seeing one or two decent 67-72 trucks sitting around and most could be bought fairly inexpensively. Today they are few and far between but still can find a few. The prices are certainly climbing and the quality is decreasing but never the less they're some left in the wild. I definitely think you're going to have to get out of the North East to find something that not going to require a ton of sheet metal work.
Good luck with your quest.

Ok. This is a craigslist find but it found me. Wanted ads really work. local score! 1972 CST Blazer rebuilt engine with receipt , 4sp, posi rear, a/c. Cheyenne package! The guy sprayed over original Bronze with some funky rattle can, prior owner was a hunter. has to be stripped and Bronzed for sure, I love Saddle! Needs interior and still has original bucket seats and rear seat with tire holder behind it. I guess I will be selling some of my parts stash to pay for the restore. The last picture is what it might look like someday. a1

Hard to sell a truck when the engine is out, and the wheels, bags, brakes, and title are not included.

Not a truck, but a nice looking 72 gmc suburban with highlander upholstery. I don't know if they made highlander burbs, but it'd be cool if they did.

72 GMC K1500 (dressed as a Chev) $16.5K https://springfield.craigslist.org/c...235615879.html

69 CST10 Custom Camper 396 $13,750 (but check out that SPID! (granted, some of its "heft" is because the Oshawa trucks list some extra verbiage, but still, nicely optioned truck))
FWIW, I've seen this truck in person (and for sale) at a local Goodguys show - price has come down a bit, but it is every bit as nice as it looks in the pics.

I once owned one 25 years ago. it was blue and white with a blue plaid interior.

I passed on this, but it's a nice tailgate. I passed due to some gravel damage along the bottom. It's otherwise in real nice shape. There's some rust where some of the holes are, but it's just on the surface. https://reno.craigslist.org/pts/6231846141.html

Only difference from my "sample" tailgate is there's not a drain hole at the bottom center? In other terms, for whatever it means, it has six holes in the bottom instead of seven.

The burb claims to be a 71 - didn't think they made plaid anything in 71. But, that kinda looks like a 72 to me.. Might want to confirm the vin before registering this one. Nice burb.

Ad says 71, but I think the only year for Highlander was 72, but not completely sure of the GMC.

Not a truck but something to go on it:) I drove 7 hours each way to get it, so I wasn't coming home without it, but I think it is too big for my needs. It really is in nice shape for its age, and my C/20 had no issues pulling it. I just need something that does not hang over to I can pull a trailer as well.

Yup, ad title says 71. The vin supplied in ad says it's a 72. I am trying to get some pictures (one of SPID requested). We will see!

Not bad for 2950 bucks..

The white over dark yellow from Houston is a good looking truck for sure. I find it weird that the instrument panel looks restored but the only needle they didn't paint was the speedometer. Yes I'm nitpicking. Just seems odd to me. If you're going to the trouble to restore it. Why leave the speedometer unpainted. All the other needles appear to have been painted. Did they leave it unpainted to give the appearance that it was original and unaltered? If so, it's a fail for me.

Since someone else is nitpicking I will add my favorite complaint that jumped out on me with this truck. If someone does such an overall restoration why do they still insist on painting the inside of the bed with that awful black goop instead of the original painted color of the rest of the truck? I can understand that if your truck is just a daily user you might want to cover the bed and all its dents with the bedliner stuff-- but why use it on a nice truck like this? Just wondering. I am sure it is all just personal taste. I love the color BTW.

I'm with you on the bedliner crap. I prefer a bed mat. Problem is you can't find them anymore. The last ones you could buy that fit 67-72 were actually for the 73-87 trucks. I've been look for one for my 70 GMC longbed but no luck.
