Started to take the throttle cable apart, part i need is the firewall grommet, luckily picked up a used one and didnt have to cut this oem cable apart

More to follow

Shroud and cable have to be cut down, just a test fit, also waiting on the firewall grommets

Reworked the throttle cable a bit, the old method had no way of fine tuning it...hotrodimpy suggested the bushings, and moved the plastic piece to the firewall. Not sure, may still build a square bushing for the OEM throttle cable bracket, like the kickdown cable

OEM fuel regulator on BO till the 18th

Still have to ponder the fuel supply and return, seems the fuel rail fittings are a saginaw type with orings

Still searching for a proper water neck on the base plate, but was able to locate the OEM air filter from K&N

Throttle travel seems to be1 1/2" by the red marks on the cable, enough to engage OEM cruise control all the way to WOT

Do you need a stock water neck? Or custom?

I think I have a stock mount fpu as well.

The threads are metric.

:Edit: My camaro has the 0411 swap with single coil.

Sure, i could use all help i can get...

I have the factory water neck, pictured in the previous pic., seems the outlet angle is wrong, as well as the size( 1 1/4" od )

I would be interested in the regulator, dependind on price, wouldnt want to get my thread locked by turning this into a WTB

Ops, didnt see that on the neck.

Understand on fpu, will take that to pm.

Just recieved the fpr in the mail today from accel, thanks for the offer tho. Still have to get the fp gauge

Cant believe it....6 toolboxes filled with tools and not one torx with the tamperproof head, guess it will be easier to replace the screws, then try to find a tamperproof torx

Re: PO has me PO'd

I told you in PM it had funky screws. I ended up buying a kit from autozone that had about 30 different bits in it, just to get that one.

:lol:yeah, but, when you said funky, i was thinking something else. Sorta like, metric is funky to me, but a differant style head is off the wall. I guess GM doesnt want anyone to open up the regulator. Weird part is, accel actually included a torx driver bit with the parts in the box. Weird part is it doesnt fit the screws. Why would they bother! The bit is probably case hardened, so i cant drill the hole required to fit the screw

Well, not really...been laid up for a couple weeks with a banged up ankle!

Got the fuel regulater mounted in the fuel rail, so that part just needs the gauge.

Waiting on a couple thousand to come in to buy my FAST XFI system, then i should have lots to do. Right now im just plugging away at little stuff to keep busy, feels good to be able to stand up again:lol:
Guys over at. ............have been really helpful, making sure i dont buy the wrong part or something i dont need. This really helps when you have no idea what your doing!

My main problem is the PCV system. Bought the valve yesterday to put in the vc, but that is all i know of the stock system. Dunno where it gets plugged into the plenum....searched and searched, read and read, but cant find any actual pictures of what the system looks like. Found some diagrams, so i know where it goes, just not how it actually hooks up with the fittings and size of vacuum lines...ill keep searching, i know the info is out there, maybe buy an old assembly manual for an '85 corvette

Been meanin' to post up on your build thread to see what youre up to...i know you made progress

Thanks for lookin

I think the pvc plugs into the left side of the intake, down lown between the two pairs of runners.

Then you have the "vent tube" connect to pass side of the TB.

If you need any diagrams, pics, or have questions. Give me a pm, Ive had a TPI for about 5 years now and had it ripped down plenty of times for mods.

Post up pics., could help someone on future builds...sounds like youre the guy i need to talk too
Ive seen the diagrams, but they dont help me very much. I need to know fitting and hose size, and locations

Looked in the areas you specified, but cant see anything. Thanks for any info. and time you can give me

left hose size, I cant read, but it looks to be 3/8 or 1/2. The threaded fitting on the left side, make sure you use blue loctight, I had mine come loose and caused some funny idling.

right hose, no size marking at all. I guess 5/8.

I am using vette heads 113, vette base intake(this hole is same on camaro though), and vette valve covers.

Also, on your thermostat housing. Does what you have just need to be clocked different? I have the tools to heliarc (sp?) aluminum. I'm not that good, but if thats all you need done, I would give it a try.

I was looking back thru your pics. I see thats not a stock base, which one is it and I will try to find pics of it.

I also see you have a vette fuel rail.

Very nice, and thank you, that will give me something to work with...
The baseplate was made by scroggins dickey for the vortec heads, then they allowed edelbrock to make them

The fitting that goes into the baseplate, i thought that was part of the EGR, so, i will go back and look again. A threaded hole is in that location, so that is a good start. I hope ir is not part of the EGR, since my heads have not been opened up for that....worst case scenerio, pull heads and machine

I may take you up on your welding skills, let me look and see if clocking will solve the alignment issue. Its cast aluminum, dont know if you can heliarc that....

And yes on the vette fuel rail

Thanks again for your help, may have more questions

Re: PO has me PO'd

ok looked up that intake....

http://image.gmhightechperformance.c...m_manifold.jpg

The ellipse hole next to the runner openings, thats your EGR tube.
The next opening to the rear, that is your egr threaded port. IIRC its 1/2npt.

My first heliarc project was my vette base intake that I made a fubar on ;) Then I made a rear bumper frame for my camaro. So not much experience as I mentioned. Just putting that up front.

Houston, we may have a problem! Im not using my EGR, the heads are blocked, my intake is blocked, and my exhaust manifolds are blocked. Ill look around and see if i can find vacuum somewhere else

No hurry on the welding, because i think it has to be angled and clocked, plus the od is 1 1/4" and i need a 1 1/2", so it may be off to the aftermarket store

Dale99 10-23-2012 10:07 PM

Re: PO has me PO'd

No egr is fine. I'm not running one on mine from the factory intake, cause my heads arnt either. You will still need to run a block off plate on the right rear if no EGR is being used.

That round hole should still be open and threaded.
