Got my pressure regulator installed tuned. Starts alot better idles alot better (before youd have to go WOT for 3 miles before it would stay running) idles MUCH better and starts alot faster. Now I gotta get the timing squared away...

I DO have pictures but I got a new phone and im still learning...and the camera had dead batteires earlier

still thinking of how to mount radio delete and wondering why cigar lighter delete wont stay in the hole (hole too big or cigar lighter too small lol)

Anyone measure their cigar lighter hole for me with some calipers and give me the measurements?

good, it's always great when your effort makes it run better

A guy in 60-66 forums somehow managed to get sent the wrong template and hes gonna send it to me when he gets time. So im waiting on his template or making a template from the junkyard. And waiting on 4 clips that hold the bulb in.

Trim-I need the push in clips and more trim. Right now im doing fuel regulator and getting timing curve dialed in. Finished regulator last nite.

Edelbrock carbs run sucky @ idle if its more than 5-6 psi. It wouldnt even idle you had to mash the gas and drive it for a few miles before it would, and even then id load up and jump around alot

Re: "Rice Rocket'

OKAY I got the ol goose runnin best its ever ran. Chirp tires from10 15 mph roll :)

Got fuel regulated now no running rich at idle and crummy idle. Starts right up.

Total timing is 36* hooked to ported (pass side on edelbrock).

For anyone with edelbrock carb. Check your fuel pressure if its more than 6 you PROBABLY have cruddy idle/starting problems. Also a good idea to re set the floats since you already spilled gas everywhere.

Give me some imput on cleaning up the engine bay (tidying up).

Maybe spinning valvecovers around so PCV is in the front of the engine, that'd make the hose shorter and less obvious.

Re positioning the throttle return spring to the rear so you cant see it

need to fix the oil sender leak in the rear of the motor...ugh.

need to fix the rtv leak on the rear intake

tuneup (plugs/wires/air filter/oil filter)

Re: "Rice Rocket'

Run some longer spark plug wires UNDER the ram horns and outta the way

Battery cables re routed/longer (+) cable

nice to finally see your truck john! it looks pretty good! i say make wires shorter more hidden hoses that run in nice lines and are routed like they have a purpose.

oldblue1968chevy 08-31-2011 11:38 PM

Re: "Rice Rocket'

Make wires shorter is a good idea ive always tried to curl them up incase I think a better way to route them and then wish I didnt make the wire so short LOL

Hidden hoses? Whatchu mean rick?

Thanks keep it commin' ricky. Seen any spare tire carriers mounted in the bed lately? Im still lookin'!

How can I tidy up the mess of wires @ the battery guys?

67chevy1series 08-31-2011 11:46 PM

Re: "Rice Rocket'

cut the wires or make them tuck under the fender so there hidden. also drop the inner fenders and paintem nice semi gloss black again they really help actually.

Re: "Rice Rocket'

Started to work on the truck a little this morning was gonna take it or the green car to a cruise in. Cleaned up my gas stained intake manifold (hoping fuel regulator fixed the leak, already adj. floats prior) Intake looks alot nicer. Got about finished with routing my return spring to the rear of the motor (so you dont see it as easily) and heard my grandpa hollering and the dog barking so i went downstairs and he said hes in pain so he took ride in the abulaance this morning. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers please. I want him to go for a few more rides with me and loose some more stuff thru 'the hole'
