Are you moving the gas tank on the 64 to the back? Rockers look good!!! Mine will get fixed next spring

No Bubba I kinda like the bomb thing. Besides I just bought a new rubber neck thing for it.:uhmk: Last time I was messing with the tank I needed to take it out, you have to kinda tip it down to get it out. Anyway gas came out the fill hole and went everywhere. It was then I saw the wires going to the gas sender were caught on somthing and where shorting like crazy. I really can't believe I'm still here. I guess thats just another reason to disconnect the batt. when messing with electric stuff. I'm sure if you where doing it you would have red taged it or somthing smart. er er

Now you just need to put a egg crate on the frame so you can drive it around.

I found some nice black seats on Craigs Just need to get some time to go see them. I think they where out of a dodge.

Christmas came early today. New bumper and side trim for the 64. Got the stuff from Classic parts, came quick, bumper seems to be a nice one. The trim was packed in a tube, one piece had a couple dents, tube had no dents? Can't wait to get the buymper on.:smoke: oh ya I can't do that for awhile.:mm: I mounted my air compressors. I was running them from a battery charger and it almost melted the cord? Phoned them about the trim, sending a new piece in 24 hours. Brothers needs to take lessons from these guys. Trim came with clips to mount them. I don't think they tell you that I ordered a clip set.

Re: Daverods project 66

That's easy enough to fix. Try it. Make special tools to fit where the dent is, and hammer them out little by little. Make it as smooth as possible, then lightly use a fine file to hit the high spots. Then hammer out the low spots. Go over it with a small wooden block and 400 paper. Keep looking for low spots and fix them, and when done. Sand with 1000 grit, and buff it. I did a lot of stainless for myself and friends. For one I did my whole 56 Belair. It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it.

Sorry Dave , it never ends . It is a sickness, a crippling addiction --When a passion becomes an OBSESSION .... It only stops when the money ends or the wife says STOP:devil:
I know ... I have been there. Heck , I am there again with yet with another project!!!

Another project.:metal: Tell me it is'nt so. Let me guess, a 1950 truck with killer patina. Your going to bag it ,lay it on the dirt, and put a 383 in it. No wait that's my next dream project.

This method is for stainless steel. Your grill is steel isn't it? I guess it can be done the same way. :smoke:

Use a bigger hammer.:haha:

Re: Daverods project 66

Thats what I thought. How many types of metal did they use to make the grills. I think mine is Al. I was thinking about getting a chrome one. And if a cop ever wants to run a dog though your truck don't get scared.:lol:Oh I forgot you live in a cool state. Not Utah. No, wait I don't live in Utah. What the hell is going on.

Strodder 12-09-2010 06:30 PM

Re: Daverods project 66

Sounds like you hit yourself in the head with a hammer too many times. :haha:

I was thinking about maybe going over and kicking the tires on this. Maybe try to lowball the guy. I would like it but I don't think the guy has a title. Area codes 760 I think that's in Utah somewhere. Looks like Utah. I do like the wheels, look like centerlines.

Strodder 12-09-2010 08:24 PM

Re: Daverods project 66

You pay for the gas and I'll deliver it for the right price. The wheels don't come with it. S-10 wheels will come with it. Make me an offer. At least $1,500.00. You must have been hit by a hammer for wanting another project. :uhmk::lol:

Re: Daverods project 66

Maybe it is the fumes from all the sanding the boy has been doing lately. Be careful !
Good luck with the negotiations, I am holding out for a 5 window!
