Using an emblem from the old grille to make a hood emblem that lights up with the parking light. Here is a picture of an initial mock up. Not really sure why the picture shows a little purple but it is all blue and it matches the traditional Chevy blue pretty well.Attachment 1376672

I went to a sign shop that does graphic vinyl signs and stuff and got some translucent blue vinyl and acrylic that is about and 1/8 in thick. Trim to fit inside on the lowest edge of the emblem. I plan to use clear silicon to minimize moisture and keep the lens in place. The vinyl and acrylic cost me 10 bucks. It would have been free if he could find it in the scrap pile.

Mailed off the registration renewal to the DMV. First time getting registered since about 1977 from what I can tell. Just need to finish a few items on my punchlist, and I'll be driving it.
Maybe a little cart before the horse, but screw it. |

Took a small load to Goodwill, and it was a great day for a cruise! Then washed it and put it back in the garage.. (it needed a wash anyway)

Well this was yesterday, but
I left work right after 5 to go to cecil county dragway. Got about a mile up the highway and noticed the temp gauge shooting up. Pulled off to a parking lot and found the upper hose nipple blown out of the rad. Did a temporary repair. Then filled up with water from the back of the truck, and got a couple gallons from somebody that was helpful. I also called my friend so he could take me to the local auto parts store and try to find a radiator. Then I drove back to the shop, stopping to refill the radiator once. Got back to the shop, called my boss and he said there was a radiator that might fit. The rad fit on the lower mounts properly unlike the old radiator that sat on the side tank. got the "new" radiator in with the help of a tie down and zipties temporarily and put a tach in that I actually find distracting. My friend and I drove to my house. I was adjusting my timing on the way to try to get the most power. My balancer also has incorrect marks on it so I was doing it by feel. I got to my house, emptied the bed and got a piece of pizza. Then we went to the gas station and it started raining. Called cecil and they were rained out. My sm465 also grinds in 4th when letting off the gas and grinds constantly above 85mph. The past 2 weeks they were snowed out, they closed at 8 last night because of rain. It was neat to fix my truck temporarily with some duct tape and wire though. also made me think of Roadkill |

Are you sure you are in the right forum!! I used "peel and ply" from the local big box home improvement, in the roofing section. Search here for threads on it. I also used some aluminum tape from the insulation section. |
Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
