Speaking of decoys.

This one was added from Dennis' mum and dads collection.

Cool vintage stuff collected on the way to Ethyls

Some of the stuff inside the restaurant.

There really is too much to record on film, unless you want to just do a threadon Ethyls restaurant.

Not including videos.

That's a lot. Hope you guys have enjoyed the trip so far.

Need a break now

So we made it into Ethyls

I was welcomed back like a long lost hero, we also ran into Rob who had cooked at the birthday party.

Once settled, we ordered drinks and twice cooked Chicken wings. Man... !!! They are championship winners.

Dennis still had a truck to paint later.....

So only iced tea for the poor guy.

Me......

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psmlhuw3bq.jpg

I walked about and chatted, and got a few pics for you guys.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps4gaebvxd.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psbipa8ltd.jpg

Lunch was over all too soon and we had to head out to the airport.

Checked in, more sight seeing.

Loved this......

Re: Grizz's Redneck Express 1966 Chevy Short Fleetside RESTO-GO!

So, every now and then we meet people in life, who touch our lives in different ways.

Just look around yourself.

I have met so many and they are all different.

Of course you bunch of old men (and perverts) are mostly waiting for another one of these very special people.

It is hard to try and convince anyone when I post the pics up below, that Kelly is an awesome, intelligent and generous hostess or waiter in a restaurant that serves great food, and is a very regular spot for many local and not so local people.

When I walked into Ethyls and she saw me, she instantly recognised me (maybe in Dennis' company) and gave a squeal of joy or recognition and charged me and gave Dennis and I a really good welcome hug.

You only have to look at my face........

I have not had such a stupid grin on my face in over a year, well, possibly since the last time I saw her.

And she is a tiny little sparrow of a woman. Perfectly proportioned, topped of with a glorious smile.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psu9sjkmxs.jpg

She seemed genuinely pleased to see me.

And I prompted her to pose for a few pics for the Internet Forums.

So these are for all of you guys.

And that includes the gang who contributed so generously earlier in the year to my Charity Cycle ride.

I have. It and will not forget your generosity. Thanks again.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psicccvldk.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psp0ser7pq.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psfrbzco4d.jpg

Thinking of what you guys are thinking........ (maybe a bigger tip?)

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psifmxmesw.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pssqksi0ms.jpg

Of course Dennis got a turn too...... lucky guy.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psqcyr7not.jpg

And while we were eating, I asked Dennis to take a pic of Kelly on the barstool, standing behind me, making me look good, maybe over my shoulder.......

You better look carefully...

Yes, I am sitting on a tall barstool, and the sparrow is sitting on my shoulders.....

My head felt all warm too.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psdkygcvmo.jpg

And my tongue just hung out.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psyw2bpsqp.jpg

Then I finished my chicken wings, paid up and we left for the airport.

Where Dennis dropped me off.

............ The End.

Errrmmm, well, almost.

But I guess you will all just walk away now, you, have seen the star attraction.

Hope it was worth the wait.

Last bit to be written up later, headed out for a bit now to fill the car for the week ahead.

All my yard work is done too. Hedges, shrubs etc.

And fixed my lawnmower

Re: Grizz's Redneck Express 1966 Chevy Short Fleetside RESTO-GO!

After Dennis dropped me off, I sat in a restaurant in the airport building, the guy running it gave me permission to sit in there, comfortably when I asked him..

More nice people.

Later checked through security (more friendly people) and waited to board.

Watched Military personal get first boarding rights, which pleases my heart immensely

Onto the plane......

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psch42sxdx.jpg

Take off, and rising higher and higher away from Missouri was really quite heart wrenching for me.

Weird that I felt so sad as if I had lost a member of my family.

Mississippi River below us in the sunset.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psto6rfzcy.jpg

Landed in Chicago, raced to get onto my international flight, which was FULL

Landed in London11.00 the next day, and eventually got home at 3pm

The cats were both happy.

Harley all over everything, and into the case while I unpacked.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psgzgwqvlq.jpg

Ginger Whinger, Dukey also kept close to me since I got back.
They may have missed me.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psznjw0vmz.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psgcrr9aut.jpg

First night back, trying to write up the trip report.......

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psjylhgxox.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps8b1jzwrm.jpg

Wednesday it was back to work and this week four days spent in rraining at Heathrow.

With a black tie event.

Not the same as shorts and flip flops

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pssugfivhf.jpg

JETLAG did kick my butt, but at least it was better than last year.

Lastly, I just want to say a massive thank you to every person who touched my life this year, from Debbie and Dennis right through to all of you following and replying to this story.

Maybe, if all goes well, and I have a job next year......

Who knows.

I kept watching and waiting to see if you were coming on farther into South Central Arkansas and then you were gone. Maybe next time.
Glad you had a great visit even though you had a Mopar/dealer related situation that was not fun.

I had hoped to do more miles Vince, but sadly it was not to be.

Of course nothing stops you from coming over to England to visit me......

Thank you.

I suspect that if things were a little different, we could have made it happen.

But of course I am a guest, so cannot take over completely.

A get together would be grand, there are enough of us on various forums.

Aggie,

If there is one thing we know, it is that the media is just that.....media.

And they will create whatever they need on their own agenda.

I had never particularly wanted to travel the US, partly based on media reports, but then got to know a lot of people via the internet and the likes of Ta2Don, Clem and many others that I am not going to name on here, show a different part of America.
The part I love.

Re: Grizz's Redneck Express 1966 Chevy Short Fleetside RESTO-GO!

How good does it feel to pick up £300.00 on the side of the road?

Wrapped up in a little bundle and a plastic bag.

I guess most of us like a bit of free cash when we can get it.

Recently my lawnmower, bought for £50.00 on eBay when the free one I got at the council tip about 10 years ago croaked and then given a new diaphragm in the carb, decided it's handle was going to throw in the towel.

So the choice was to spend £300.00 on a cheaper mid range thing or get a Honda for over £500.00 as I do like my lawn tidy.

Tight R-s me thought I would ripummage in the garage and see if there were bits that could do the job.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pstelu8dmi.jpg

So Mr Grinder came out, and removed the offending part, then sleeved the handle using some considerable force.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psrwzludgj.jpg

A second sleeve that would fit over sleeve number one, once cleaned up and then welded to the new support, would see me cutting the grass with my life extended mower again.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psppbls0q7.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psyz4ihy2q.jpg

Sleeved handle, into welded sleeve, and welded to sop and bottom of inner sleeve, then reassembled......

Yup, looks a bit rough.

Don't care.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psf6ruan1w.jpg

Etch primed and satin black.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pskibrlvf2.jpg

Job done.

On a different level, som e very old cigarette advertising, one of my favourite brands growing up (I have never smoked in my life)

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pspmof6gcv.jpg

And the gift that keeps giving.

More funds came in recently for the Children's Charity we all contributed to earlier this year, hey have managed to get to 103% with almost £26000.00 in contributions. Someone dropped £2000.00 in as well. Suspect it was a corporate donation.

Thanks Ernie and Evan.

And finally, saw this beauty parked up in Rochester High street last weekend.

Re: Grizz's Redneck Express 1966 Chevy Short Fleetside RESTO-GO!

Weekend on us again.

Raining, so no grass cutting yet.

But I thought I would share a screenshot of a message I got from Down Under.

Much appreciated that Charley took the time to comment, in a PM.

Makes the write ups I do worth doing.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psh7roksee.jpg

Wednesday I spent 5 hours in the company of a prominent, international Cardiologist in London.

Thursday all day spent at a Cardiology and Stroke Summit meeting, learning a massive amount. Really feeling privileged

On the way there Uncle Abe looked over my shoulder.

There is something about America...... constantly by my side

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psgkdg2ybv.jpg

Then at the conference venue I saw this, love the clouds.

This is my town.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psc9v1uktf.jpg

Headed to another meeting in the evening the London Eye greeted me.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psux9poc2t.jpg

This morning it was up early again, cats shouting for food.

And Prozac headed for its MOT test.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pswpclexmn.jpg

Then at the test centre..... 40 minutes, feeling like an expectant father, not knowing if it will be a boy or a girl or a puppy.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psdnlcxqyn.jpg

Up on the ramp.

Of course I forgot that things like emissions are tested too, and every other aspect of functioning.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psa8fk0eqa.jpg

Eventually the deadpan faced tester came out and handed me a Certificate.

PASS !!

He also commented that it was one of the mechanically cleanest Berlingo he has tested.

So I drove off-road the Turkish shop and then home to collect my stuff, and some stuff I bought from@CraigRK so emtime ago, that needed delivering.

Tonight Katy and I went to see Kingsman, 'The Golden Circle'

WHAT A BRILLIANT MOVIE.

PURE ESCAPISM.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps9bb08ngg.jpg

DINNER WAS GREAT TOO.

Pleasure mate.

New MOT is good news, however, the comments from the inspector was worth more to me.

It is an old car, but he said it was a good one.

Going out shopping with it is always fun as it draws attention and gets comments from random people, old and young.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psl3zg9f74.jpg

Tonight I got home after 6pm as I had a meeting in Croydon this afternoon.

Note through the door to say a parcel had been delivered next door.

So I took some stuff around to Mickey and fetched my parcel...... large.

Inside was a massive smile inducing V8 hubcap from the GrumpyNortherner.

This is one of his restorations...... take a look and be amazed at attention to detail and finish.

http://forum.retro-rides.org/thread/...oration-wheels

Thank you very much Chris.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps8jyiz9ed.jpg

I removed a painting from the wall, and hung it up indoors...... not sure everyone would, but hey, I pay the mortgage.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pse91vovgo.jpg

Also inside, neatly wrapped and packed was this license plate.

As Herb in Winfield Kansas likes to say.... Made out like a Bandit !!!

I love the real patina on plates, used works for me.

Check out this thread to see what car it came from, one of Chris' restorations.

Definitely.

It's all about karma and paying it forward.

Funny how these trips keep giving long after the fact.

Adam who owns the Hellcat, and is Denniss' son made the following comment on my FB feed this week.

Just made me smile as I guess it kind of forces my hand......

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psmusgdoue.png

And yesterday Dennis sent me these pics of a newspaper his mum had kept all these years..... 20 years that is.

You need to read the article, to see that sometimes very little changes.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psliqtyimw.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pswvlffxvp.jpg

Seems they ended that year in 7 or 8th spot nationally in the US.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psabof4pls.jpg

And nothing has changed.

Awesome to see two men as best friends.

Father and son.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pslcwfk9vo.jpg

Got home yesterday and found the postman had left a parcel.

From Australia.

I knew exactly who it was from as he had sent me a PM last week.

Lyndon...!You champion....!!

Thank you.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psjq5raabu.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pszquka8xl.jpg

The parcel included a covering letter, to explain the origins and meaning of the license plates.

I really like to understand and know origins of plates when it is available.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps8cspswct.jpg

These are very cool plates as Australian plates are not that common or easy to get.

Re: Grizz's Redneck Express 1966 Chevy Short Fleetside RESTO-GO!

Went for a walk on Thursday as my day job is screwing with my head at the moment.

It was thoroughly enjoyable, and I saw this..... may have to find its way home soon.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps5xrvlzc0.jpg

This weekend has been more about getting ready for winter.

My plum tree needed some serious cutting back.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps1rajhxbk.jpg

A couple of hours on a tall ladder with lopping shears.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps1dqumxmt.jpg

Then got rained out, so could not complete the job yesterday, went shopping and banking instead in the Berlingo. Smiling all the way.

Dukey the Ginger Whinger has a story today......
After I came back from the USA his mobility seemed to have declined a lot.
In fact, I thought he may be needing to be put down as he hissed at me for the first time ever when I touched him where he was laying , obviously in pain.
He is 15 years old.
Anyway, I gave him a single dose of Metacam, which may have worked, went away for 4 more days with work and when I got back he seemed better, so he is still alive.

His back legs and hips seem to be in decline, but I will do whatever I can to keep him happy.

Anyway........ Having not cleared the garden yesterday....

This morning early I heard him shouting very loudly and plaintively downstairs, ignored him.... then heard the cat flap slam again.

So I got up and looked out into the garden......

Look at the sequence and tell me he is a thick cat again.

Using the hole for the washing line, as he could not get to the garden bed on the right which is his toilet during summer, till I put cat litter out for them in winter, this cat knows his business.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pst74cs4h9.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psjdc89ewd.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psl7oxydyn.jpg

I also had Harley on the windowsill this morning, watching "Cat Telly"
Usually she sits in the en-suite window, watching birds and chattering.

They both get wet packet food in the morning, as a supplement to the dry food tower they graze from, and tuna at night (Dukey religion)
So in the mornings, I thow out whatever is left onto the lawn and the crows or whoever is first, gets the left over food.

She loves to watch them.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps0bpife5j.jpg

No bootfair today, so need to clear up and remove this mess.
So I stopped at McD' and had a Breakfast Wrap, nice but underwhelming, coffee was OK.

Nice day out.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pssjyjsc1j.jpg

Back home to cut out all the possible kindling and fire wood from the pile.

Then used the hedge trimmer to cut the rest up unto short bits so I could bag it all.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psz5cxcunj.jpg

Prozac again earning its keep.

What a great tool this is.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psd1xwl7kw.jpg

And another weekend over.

Mate Martin and his lovely lady, Sally, who seems to have changed his whole life for the better, came over later in the afternoon.

Also showed her my garage and pile of truck parts.

Realised I need to get back onto this truck.

I really miss driving it, and sharing it.

Great speaking with you as well John.

Got some pics from Dennis over the weekend.

Remember the tree pile from cutting back the brush and trees at his place??

Well, it's all gone, burned away.

He also sent me a pic of a future addition to my collection.

I love it, different and never had one like it.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psqedjru3q.jpg

Got home from work tonight.....

Envelope in the post

Opened it.

Minnesota plates and some stickers, plus a description where the plates came from.

Thanks Jeremy...... hugely appreciated.

Re: Grizz's Redneck Express 1966 Chevy Short Fleetside RESTO-GO!

Tuesday morning 7.30 and Mickey and I ran down to the council tip 10 miles from home.

The ton bag was just too heavy to handle alone and get up the four steel steps to get it into the massive dumpsters.

So we unloaded, a 3 minute job and then headed back home as I had a lecture to do at Kings College Hospital for 75 attendees.

Typically, the M2 was screwed and so were some detours too.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pscxugfbwe.jpg

Made it to my lecture with 15 minutes to spare.

Saw this on Facebook this week.

Memory flashback.

One of the troop trains we used to travel on when I was in the military, I spent 4 days on one in 1981 travelling to Namibia.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pse8wskhxx.jpg

Had a rough work week this week and Thursday evening I needed to find some head space.

Walked up to the farm.

Saw the beauty around me, and took these four photos, stood in one spot, turning through 360 degrees, one in each wind direction.

Looking over the Thames river toward Essex.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psazlvf5ew.jpg

Looking back toward home, over to the Medway river and Isle of Grain on the left.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pssxxl0soa.jpg

Eastward.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps2rekruuz.jpg

And of course the result. Had also spoken to Charlie the farmer for a while.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psvyp5cspr.jpg

On Friday I was back in London for the day.

Met a gentleman who works for UPS Couriers in St Thomas Hospital in the lifts.

Now most of us like them as they usually deliver parts for our projects.

He was very proud of his job, and the rest of his attire was honestly immaculate

Asked if I could photograph his shoes, he agreed.

This certainly was the highlight of my week.

Someone loving their job.

This time of year, despite getting colder gives awesome sunrises and sunsets.

This morning I was greeted by this sunrise.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps1wwg45p7.jpg

Headed out for a 60th birthday party..... second one for the year. Remember Dennis?

Some of you know I collect car/truck/bike license plates.

I have all sorts and some pretty nice stuff.

However, I have been looking for a vintage SAP license plate for many years.

These pics are pretty cool, they contain vintage cars....

However, I am looking for an old SAP number plate.

There has to be one somewhere. (I do not want a new reproduction)

So if you have one to trade, sell, donate or whatever.....

Please send me a PM to let me know

Cheers.

Re: Grizz's Redneck Express 1966 Chevy Short Fleetside RESTO-GO!

Thought I would just add some random pics.

NASCAR Truck racing stuff......

What keeps Dennis busy at crazy hours of the day and night.

Build them, break them, repeat.

So this is what comes home from the various tracks they race at. Often thrown into the walls at 150 plus mph.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pshbcslruv.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pssgg4kd2z.jpg

When any of he 13 trucks get destroyed on track, they have to get rebuilt in the shop.

Every track has a car built to specification for that track, now you get why it's such an expensive sport.

Stripped down to a frame......

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psknucwfvz.jpg

New sheet metal gets fabricated and a new carbon fibre nose added.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psydx4kwe6.jpg

We had to pop in at Mittler Bros Racing to check the metal work of the truck they were rebuilding again.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pszbru9rka.jpg

Next up.... paint.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps4repvow0.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psobzi8d2v.jpg

Then Dennis gets onto the fun part.

After the paint dries, he starts the wrap and stickers.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psqqz9cyk3.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psqewk0jwi.jpg

And then it is ready to be thrown up against a wall somewhere across the USA again, in the pursuit of a podium spat.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pscxxmp2fv.jpg

Nice to be working on these 358 cubic inch displacement V8 motors, pushing out around 750bhp.

Later.

Indeed.

Thought I would share these two videos.

Very different, but both made me smile.

And we all need to smile.

Anyone for a bus ride?

And of course a bit of history.

Enjoy the weekend.

Guess they got all the answers they needed Bill.

Will do a random non car related update for the stalker brigade some time.

Got a message from Nicola yesterday that a parcel had landed for me.

It would be delivered to the Crematorium where she now works by someone in a very smart stripey suit.

Not sure yet who it is from as usernames often differ to real names.

But it seems to be from Ireland.

So thank you.

I will get it in two or three weeks when she gets back from sunny Cyprus where she is headed for a winter break.

Re: Grizz's Redneck Express 1966 Chevy Short Fleetside RESTO-GO!

Karma is an awesome mistress.

Last week I got a PM via the Chevy Truck Forum from a New Zealander, who lives and works in Australia but was somewhere in Europe travelling with his partner in a camper van for the last six months.
He needed a recommendation on a non franchised garage to carry out some maintenance including new shocks all round on their camper van.

So we went to mobile Whatsapp chat mode.
I found and shared some garages but it seemed that everyone is booked quite solid.
So they decided to come to England, then fly to Iceland for a week on Friday and get the van sorted once back here.

I offered them my home as a stop over to use as a base while regrouping and doing London touristy stuff.
I think they were a bit surprised but I managed to convince them to stay ove a few days.
Of course lots of car and truck was spoken and we spent some time in my garage too. Arron's dad is a mechanic in NZ so it was a good time.

The cats both loved them and having the company and Caroline got herself a cat fix.

As always it was great, like when the McMurphy's were here, to have company in the house and being able to spend time with like minded people.

They previously did 42 states in the USA over 8 months and covered 24000 miles on that trip.

So had this on my drive for a few days while they slept in a real bed.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psvagiyxcy.jpg

Arron's Chevy thats in storage in Australia at the moment.

Link to his Build: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=590143

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pshqecgwti.jpg

It seems winter is here.

When I work in my office ( I work from home ) in winter the small oil heater keeps the chill at bay.
I had a personal wager not to turn the heating on till end October. Made it to 6 November though winter has not yet gone bitter cold.

What is funny though is that both cats often do a double decker in my office to be near the heat.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pstlw6k6jw.jpg

Of course this is more like what they like...... toasty

How I found Dukey, next to his latest hairball. Bleughh.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps19wt98pm.jpg

Friday today means weekend, unless I get a call out to work in London tomorrow.

And so Thanksgiving came and went.

I trust you had a great weekend.

Good to speak to you for an hour yesterday John.

Not much to add.
Paying it forward as always Rian, if there was a single person on this forum I would pick out who embodies the spirit of RR it would be you! Great stuff!
Paying it Forward is real easy.

I always assume thst I am three payments ahead in the kindness people have shown me. So all I do is balancing the books.

To be honest Mat, it feels great when you can do stuff for someone without expectation of anything in return.

Kindness, even to an animal or especially to an animal fills your Karma bucket very quickly.

In unrelated news........

I know some of you read this for general entertainment.

So not quite Berlingo relalated but still in the realm of cars and road trips.

Some of you may remember that Dennis' son Adam and his Fiancé Hanna had bought a large parcel of land next to his. Maybe 10 acres or so to build a home and workshop on.

This will house his race cars, the Hellcat etc.

When I went over in September this was the state of affairs.

The pole barn guy works alone but meticulously so progress is a lot slower than if you brought a team of Amish barn builders on site who could spend a week putting it all up.

Inbetween their day jobs and racing Sprint cars at weekends, Adam and Hanna also have been buying fixtures and fittings to go into the house looking for bargains and ways to stretch their cash.

This was the state of it when I visited.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pschvi1g0m.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psgxk3tls6.jpg

As time has evolved and moved on, it has progressed and Adam sensibly also had a "small" tool shed added to the rear for tools and toys.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psr9jkzttr.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pshuzt197g.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps0bfdewf8.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psq8s0ljdm.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psmqpchfqe.jpg

Of course at the moment it is good storage space.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psy0g0blcd.jpg

They cannot wait to get in.......

So the front door is ready.

Grizz1963 11-26-2017 07:33 AM

Re: Grizz's Redneck Express 1966 Chevy Short Fleetside RESTO-GO!

Continuing the skinning of the barn.....

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps4cd6yb0g.jpg

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psjvuszubv.jpg

And looking from the front........

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psdnz2e6xa.jpg

The next step is to cast the massive floor and then do the interior, which should go a lot quicker and show results.

The large workshop doors will be added later.

I have been enjoying the progress as Dennis shares it, going along.

Back home on Mud Island (Just imagine being in the Southern Hemishphere where the summers are kicking in now) things are going along their merry way.

I popped into Rochester last Sunday thinking the Christmas market had started at the Castle..... Wrong.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psdy2xm6dn.jpg

But it was on this weekend and I got some chutneys and sauces I wanted from a small batch manufacturer, so all good.

This week I also had a really good early morning sighting.

This was the front and rear of my house, photos taken less than 5 minutes apart.

From ugly skies to rain in under 5 minutes.

You have to love the weather here.

Looking at the Thames river and Essex direction out front.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psd2efvdh9.jpg

Out the rear toward Dover and the Medway River.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psyipl6yts.jpg

Went to lunch with Katy and her daughter last weekend and seems they did know where to seat me.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pspk0w4avt.jpg

Ohhhh..... and to get back to automotive type stuff.

I had washed and cleaned Prozac as well.

Love it when the little van is clean.

Despite its body being as rough as a Badgers butt it still looks great from 500 meters.

And makes me smile when I go out to the shops in it or use it as intended to move stuff about

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pspiihpove.jpg

So that's me kind of updated.

I am still contemplating buying either a Ford Ranger/Mazda B series truck in single cab/King cab 2x4 flavour, or if I can find an affordable Chevy S10 in 4.3 litre V6 flavour with a Fleetside body and king cab at the right money (cheap)...... woooohooo.
