Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I went to the junk yard this morning. About a mile from there it began to lightly rain but I continued. I got out of the truck and rain came down pretty hard so I just sat around chatting with the owners until it stopped. I ventured out on the yard and struck out on all that I went after. As I looked up the heavy rain clouds were building again so I made the trek back to the office. A quick word there, then I made it to my truck just as the strong wind and really hard rain began. I mean the bottom fell out that time! Good time to be leaving.

Attachment 2208153 It's as fancy as it get's for my burgers (unless I make Swiss mushroom bacon burgers). I use that mustard, raw onion, lettuce, tomato, and black pepper it down. at parties I just make rounds past the grille every now and them for a quickie burger (or woof burger). Those are made by putting a burger on the bottom half (or top... ya drunk?), then mustard, other half of bun goes on and wuddaya waitin' fer? That burger ain't gown yit! Quote:

Got a new windshield for the Jeep today. My wife got in a fight with a rock on the road and the rock won. The windshield was pretty cracked up.
So now it's nice and purty again and I didn't even have to clean off the dead bugs. :) http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...Windshield.jpg |

This gal had her place logged a couple/few years ago and all the tops are laying. I'm going to be gathering all I can of that. I'm working on her bedroom ceiling. Years ago her dad put paneling and 4x4s up to hold the saggy plaster up. She didn't want to get into tearing all that out, so I ran bolts up through the 4x4s at the ceiling joists, screwed firring strips up to same, and put 3/8" beaded wood paneling up. Then trimmed the 4x4s with 1x and used 1/4 round around the ceiling. Yesterday I made fake 1/2 beams at either end. The 1x6 all the way around was there from the prior work. I also moved the light to center between beams. It was centered in the room and the center beam was crowded to it. Ready for caulk & final paint |

Yumm! 5 quarts of home made Vanilla ice cream in the White Mountain Ice Cream Freezer.... The local historical society is having their yearly pot luck dinner today. I always supply the home made ice cream for it. I hope there is some left to bring home. I have to make another batch for our family get-together Sunday, so I think I will get plenty.... :) LockDoc . |

I finally caved in and bought the card table today.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/.../Lotus_Inn.jpg And here's the ugly bench that I got in trouble for because I said it was ugly. That thing is about as comfortable as sitting on a porcupine. But she likes it. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...Ugly_Bench.jpg |

Finally moved the old coffee table out of the garage and over to my place by the river.

cleaning up a few minor things on the kid's 'bird
came home the other day and i could feel the heat pouring off the fr dr brake. orig 31 yr old caliper seized up. new calipers, pads and rotors, with a run back to the parts store for a defective new caliper... Attachment 2210047 just for looks....some stainless exhaust tips Attachment 2210048 and like Boogs ordeal, 3rd times a charm for some hatch struts. no one local had hatch struts for a 31 yr old car so went online. first set advertised for 82-92 camaro/firebird hatch struts. got my money back, but they wanted me to eat the shipping and a 15% restock fee, they said i ordered the wrong ones. i sent them a screenshot of the ad stating for the hatch, what i got was a set for the hood. so they refunded my money for the struts, but not the shipping, but told me i could "dispose" of the old struts....naw, for $14 i got a spare set of struts if the hood ones ever fail. here's what they sent me...seems to be a little short Attachment 2210052 second attempt ordered some from amazon. they took my money and made me wait 2 weeks, then out of the blue emailed me saying they were refunding my money (?) which they did. 3rd attempt at getting struts was finally a success. prob one of the better things we done to the 'bird, that friggin' hatch is HEAVY! no more broom handle... Attachment 2210049Attachment 2210050 |

Perfect day to get firewood … NOT.. You know it’s hot when the bar oil comes out of the jug like water. Have to get this pile out of the way as the fill keeps coming. I felled 4 fairly large oaks but couldn’t pull them out so they got buried . But there is so much wood at this location I’ll be cutting for years .

This was Saturday, too tired to make a post. My
7 hour trip turned into a 12 hour trip + cost me an extra $552 I had not planned on spending... *Purchased my trailer Labor Day 2013, guess it was time to replace a set of tires. No Cracks on any of them, full thread, and stored indoors. |

My recliner has (3) stepper motors. Head, lumbar and feet. The motor for the feet started working intermittently. More mittently than inter. So, I broke out my handy dandy meter and started checking the rocker switch and all the wires that I could access. Everything checked out fine.
So, I throw caution to the wind and decide to start tearing stuff up. The motor and worm gear / rail system are integrated. Just unplug the wire harness and pull to lock pins and it's on the floor. Double checked the wires and still good contact. I decided "What the hell, it's no good as it is I'll tear the little motor down and see what there is to see". Well, sure 'nuff one of the wires inside the motor had been making contact with the worm gear on the shaft. The wire was too damned short to do anything with, so I pulled part #s and went on a Google Treasure Hunt. Not only did I find a gazillion gizmos specifically for chairs, couches, beds etc. I ultimately found the exact system I needed...complete with motor, wiring harness and worm gear rail system. All for a smooth $ 110.00 bill. Bought it through...wait for it...Amazon dot com. 15 minutes after opening the box my chair, and me, was back in business. Who knew? The white mounting bracket you see travels up and down the rail via the worm drive. |

Hey Larry, thanks :). The story goes that the #2 cylinder hydrauliced and when they spun the engine over to build oil pressure, BOOM!!! The blower didn't blow off, that was removed later. The mag was grounded too. Sad all around. It was a nitro fuel altered car.
