Alan, if you can wait till Monday I will measure the holes in my bed sides as well but I am leaving for my reserve weekend so I won't be home till Monday.

The 45* inverted flare is what is typical on factory brake and fuel lines on the non-metric vehicles. The 37* flare is used with AN (JIC) style fittings.

I have used them before in other wood applications and they work really well but they are unforgiving in over tightening. The ribbed portion will strip without much warning that you are going too far. Just make sure you drill the hole the correct diameter and if there is a little too much room I have put waterproof wood glue on the ribs so that it fills in the cracks of the wood nicely for better grip. Of course that was in a place were I knew I would never need to take them lose again. Can't wait to see your pictures!

Not much to report, but do have a question. Is it possible to rename a thread. I didn't do a search, but did look on the user CP. I'll go do a search now. I want to rename it to "Project Vitamin C-10".

Yes you can Alan, I had mine changed. Just PM 63-64 and he can take care of you. Just let him know the new name that you want it to be. and a link to yours now.

FYI, I have disassembled several 4-5-6 Chevy truck beds and several of them used the ribbed carriage-head bolts at the wear strips. Many times, the ribbed carriage-heads had to be beat out of the wear strip, to remove them.

Isn't is nice when a vendor/supplier is a part of the solution and not part of the problem? Mar-K has gotten my business in the past and they will continue to get it in the future.

:haha: I wanted to change the name because there are several builds that the titles are really very similar. When I joined this forum I had no idea that I would still be here posting. (Love this place) It was time for a change since the truck has a name now. ;)
