Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
I think I need to find a therapist, seeing a nice truck sitting there in a scrap yard with still so many parts that someone could use but can`t get to it or can`t afford them. Breaks my heart!

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
daverod,
Where did you see it? I remember that truck when I was just a youngster. It went through 5 Chevy dealers while in Rigby. I think the paint job got hammered when the Rigby Chevrolet caught fire a few years ago. |

Has anybody ever removed the foward facing sunviser/scoop off the
front part of the roof..........any pics, just like to know how it looks, not saying that I would ever do that.......? Tony..... : ) P/S I think it might be the cause that I can't go faster than 114mph in the Quarter...... lol lol lol |
Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks

Arguably, the most distinctive design feature of our 60-66 trucks is the "duck bill sunvisor and spoiler" on the roof. Nobody would argue though that it isn't a huge air brake and I have thought about how we can do better. Rather than remove the sunvisor fabricate multiple rectangular tubes that allow the air to go through the visor and out the top. I am sure you have seen bolt on visors for modern trucks, they allow the air to flow through. Same concept but do so such that you keep the original styling, but make it more aero correct. Keep the form, improve the function, the Hot Rodders credo. This would be easier to implement too as it retains the roof and windshield profiles, IMHO. What do ya think? Do it... you know you want to! |

Thanks for the good words on my truck..........Losts of people come up to me at the drag strip and ask why..........All I say is because I can. After winning a round I have people litererly hanging over the fence giving me thumbs up......:metal: thats a good feeling. Tony http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/x...uly0920021.jpg |

Here's the 66 GMC 910 I bought when I was 16. It had a 283 and a 3 on the tree. It was my first insured vehicle and I drove it year round for about two years. Don't know why I rattle canned it, I guess green isn't cool when you're 16.. I really like the original color now though.

Mr POPS. I recognize the shots from the badlands around Drumheller but not sure about the ferry crossing. Was it at Wayne or Finnegan's Ferry. Long time ago for me. Over 50 years ago. LOL!! Nice shots.

Here you go slooter, i think this is the one your talking about aerotruck, really cool car but its really beat and looks like crap.. the roof line looks weird on here, but i think if done correctly it wouldnt look "bad"... However i do agree that it goes against the natural body lines, i really like the way the roof makes a sort of visor |

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
I've been tinkering on it for a few years on and off. Most likely will end up as a "driver" , nothing fancy.

Next to the happy face is a paper clip, click on it, this will let you attach a photo. Click on Choose file, this takes you to your pictures. Click on one, wait while it is retrieved and then press upload. I hope this makes sense, it seems complicated now that I'll done. Good luck, look forward to seeing your truck. |

When you post a comment just click on the Go Advanced icon below the message area and click on manage attachments and a window will pop up that lets you browse for your pics wherever you keep them. At least that's how I do it.
