Jim, would you please share the part number for the ac bracket? ICT makes great stuff, I run a 7176 bracket from them on the LS swap in my Z28.

ICT Bracket #551472-3 for truck uses a Sanden 7176 ac compressor (mini), anything else let me know...Jim

Little update from yesterday. Before removing AC stuff Mark and I measured up for new belt.

1st pic is the new radiator set up with an old mount, for checking for what type of bends I would need for new hoses, did find upper at local auto place, should have bottom by tomorrow.

Pic 2 and 3 are of the ac compressor and brackets painted in etching primer

First 2 pics are same parts painted flat black, not dry so they look odd.

finall pic is of the exhaust pipe from header to the new mufflers, Mark welded them up using is tig machine, came out super. They are now ready to install.

Till next time...Jim

Not much to show today. Mark put the exhaust system together, and reinstalled the AC stuff after it was painted. Started fitting hoses to the radiator. Can't do anything without parts, hope some will arrive this week...Jim

Parts did come in Friday (11/26) Mark installed the refaced gauges and hooked up all the wiring. I really like this new look. Also carried the front clip back down to the shop, tried to put back on and found several items that were hitting. Had to pull back off and modify things. Will install next week.

Today I took off the old ac condenser and put on the new aluminum radiator, installed on my original radiator bracket and it was hitting. After checking I found out that the bracket on the new radiator, didn't match the same angle that was on my Walker radiator. This pulled the lower section in about 1/2" compared to the old set-up. Will have to make some changes tomorrow.

Here's pics of the gauges and the radiator...Jim

Gauges look great Jim. I had a similar issue with my radiator. I cut the welds that attached the bracket and moved them to where I needed them then had a friend weld the aluminum brackets back in place.

With fitment, you don't know what you don't know.

Your gaining.

Marc

Well a few things got done today, but also still have fitment issues.

All finished with the radiator set-up. Mark and I installed the front clip, and found that we still can't clear the ac tensioner, it's hitting the inner fender.

We had clearance it a little, but still hitting, so off it comes tomorrow and do some more work.

Here's a better pic of the gauges, and also with the front end on (not a good pic)...Jim

That paint looks like smoothly flowing, molten glass. It's absolutely gorgeous.

Awesome work!

Do you know what the condenser is from or is it part of a kit?

Well not a good day today. Mark and I removed the front clip, did some more relief in the inner fender and tried to install the front clip again. Was still way to tight. So I said let's cut out the sheet metal and make a new piece that will clear the AC compressor clutch and the belt tensioner.

Man I hated to do that, but had to.

pic 1 is looking at the metal cut away, and template made.
Pic 2 is looking straight down, so you can see how much clearance was needed.
Pic 3 is the ac stuff.

Should have known everything was going to smooth to last:lol::lol:..Jim

Ya feels like you are going backwards sometimes.

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build

That's a bummer, but I'll bet you will be happier when it fits the next time with the cut out looking very custom!

once it is welded in and painted, it will look as good as the 'inserts' that were made for the upper control arm adjusters. (very nicely done)

Thank you, Mark did a great job on this 'new insert', posting pics later...Jim

After Mark did all the metal work, we installed the front clip again, to double check clearance. The next 3 pics aren't very good, but we have great clearance around the ac clutch and tensioner...Jim

We removed the front clip, Mark mixed some filler and put it on the patch. Will sand tomorrow, prime. Then sand and paint, will post pics when done. We also worked on a few loose ends, etc....Jim
