Any teacher that would require signing a an affidavit saying they don't believe in God does not deserve to be a teacher, in the end truth prevails. :)

Re: 1968
I personally eschew all forms of organized religion. But if one of my kids teachers sent that home, she'd get told where to shove it by me, when I took it back up there personally. That's one of them things ain't no one else's business, no matter where your faith lies.
P.S.- Looks Great, George! |
Re: 1968

received my master cly. brake cover today. Not much to report other than that.
Got other things that I could do on the truck but, been busy with remolding the oldest boy's bedroom, he is 9 years old now. Going to the welding shop tomorrow and get some 1 x 1 1/2 tubing for legs on my bed. only need about, maybe 3 ft. It might as well be 10 ft. I still don't have it. |

Today I worked on the feet/ legs for the bed supports. I built 8 of them. My back was hurting after that, so I just painted them black and I will install them on the truck tomorrow. They will be bolted to the bed supports and the frame. I was going to weld them in place, but I think I will bolt them instead.
I am not any good after 4 to 6 hours. I also received a set of bumper bolts and I will not be using them. They are not good enough for a new bumper. so they go back on the parts board for sale |
Re: 1968
George go down to the hardware store and get some solid stainless steel bolts for your bumpers, that's what I did for mine and they look great.
The bumper bolt kits you can buy for our trucks are all "stainless cap" which means the bolt underneath will rust and it will start rusting out your bumper from the inside out. |

George, I was doing a similar thing to my C50 today

Re: 1968
yea Bryan I thought of that also. I think I will wait until the bumper get here and size them up. I bought a set from another guy but I could not use them. They were cheap enough that is why I bought them. But now I have to buy them again. so cheap is not always a good ave.

Re: 1968
Yea I see. The big difference is your frame is the same from front to rear and the 67 frame difference from front to back. No two was alike. Will you be welding yours to the frame? It looks like you are. Mine will be bolted, with a foot on the bottom of the leg. I think I might have made a mistake on one of mine. The one that goes over the gas tank on the rear. It might be a little close for the gas neck. First,I am going to see before I move it. It all depends on the size of the rubber hose I will be using.

Well. today was a hot one here in Florida. Some places were 100 around here 96. I did manage to install the feet/legs for the bed supports. It was back breaking work but, it is done. I also painted the supports black. Tomorrow I will repaint them again a second coat.

Re: 1968
I'm having a hard time imagining the end result on the bed floor mod, so I'm going to have to wait until it is done to get it.

Today I painted the bed supports again. Second coat. The bed mod. is done except for a end piece of polish stainless. About 6 inches and it will have to be break with a metal bender. I only have one problem and that is where the gas inlet is. I don't think I am going to have enough room. But other than that the bed floor id done. I will need to buy my wood still. Haven't decided what kind of wood I want to use.

Re: 1968
I tried to use that tank and even went as far as to notch the frame so the hose would fit. I wanted to run the gas hose from the tank to a box inside the bed. I gave up and changed the tank to a poly tank but then did not want to cut a fill inside my bed floor. And then I changed to a Camaro tank that works great.
I wish you better luck than I had. |

Today, I got my front bumper braces down. I bought the braces several months back. I sand blasted them and painted them gloss black. It was a bad day to sand blast. The heat under the hood was a killer.
