The front pistons are fine (I assume) because there's no pull on the steering wheel. In fact, I can let go of the wheel and hammer the brakes on, and the wheel won't move at all. I never really thought about one of the rear brake shoes being too tight. Not sure if that would cause it, but I'll definitely take a look at it. I got a P0101 code come up ( Mass air flow sensor ) so trying to get rid of that. All minor stuff that's expected when building something from the ground up. |

Thank you, Dan for your reply. I've been struggling with this for many months, but couldn't come up with a solution on making such an odd piece. Your solution was pure genius, two pieces. Sometimes I just overlook the obvious answers to my problem, and forget their are 100 ways to make something! I can only blame all the other problems that have arisen lately and have not been able to focus on this... But, anyway thank you, for clearing my mind. One less problem to think of, now I have to figure out how to build a black hole, just hope I don't suck in my house |

I guess I can call this build finished. The past few weeks were just spent on cosmetic items like final paint buffing and getting the interior all put back together. We had a couple of nice weeks up here in the North, so I was able to work out most of the bugs and get quite a few miles on it. Unfortunately the weather went for a crap again so it will be a few weeks before she comes out again. I took almost 10 months to get this one done, which isn't bad at my age.
Here's a few pics of the finished interior. Dan |

Re: Hemi's 70 Blazer build
Thanks Guys !! Who knows, we may run into each other one day. I'm booked to go to the Syracuse Nationals this July in upstate New York, and it would be nice to put a face on some of the members here. They had over 8500 cars last year.

I'm waiting for the weather to clear before I can get any exterior pictures of my Blazer. I need to find a good backdrop like the old western town I used for my last build (picture below). An old abandoned building or something, that would be cool !

Re: Hemi's 70 Blazer build
Weather here is not cooperating at all. Mine still tucked away as they continue to dump tones of salt on the roads. Old industrial brick buildings always make a nice contrast in pictures.

Re: Hemi's 70 Blazer build
Love it, now start another build that I can watch lol

Re: Hemi's 70 Blazer build
Amazing build. I'm in awe of your skills in every area of the process. You can even sew. My hats off to you.

Beautiful day here in Ontario ! Put about 120 miles on the Blazer today, and it ran great. The only minor issues are the rear posi still slightly chattering especially when warm. I can live with it, but am thinking of stuffing another bottle of GM posi additive in it.
The other issue is real minor, but I hate it. The darn trim rings make a clicking sound while driving. I'm hoping I can take them off and spray some lube in them where the fingers are crimped to the ring itself. Here's a few pics taken this morning. |
Re: Hemi's 70 Blazer build
Looks great! I drive Old Blue home yesterday. Got a nice clean and polish then a nice cruz after dinner tonight. Peel that soft top off and enjoy!

OK, I buckled under the peer pressure !! LOL
I was able to get rid of the trim ring noise. Turns out the tire was just barely touching the ring causing all that noise. Roads are still fairly dusty around here, so hopefully we'll get some rain to wash things away. |
Re: Hemi's 70 Blazer build
