Re: Tre5 Customs roadster blazer project

I haven't posted up pics of the blazer in a while because the garage has been a mess of parts. Reassembly is a slower process, but it's coming along and will hopefully be ready to roll by Monday.

Slowly chipping away at it...
The air line is running through the frame rail now. The wires go directly to the fuel pump and the wires up the the level sender have a plug on them that I installed. I put a plug on the sender wires because it would be kinda difficult to attach the wires to the sender when the body is on.

Here is the shifter cable and electronic sender for the gear indicator, neither of which are meant for a 4L60E but I made them work.

Impressive work. I'm happy when I can get the correct parts to go on right and work. Let alone trying to modify something else.

Looks good do you have any tips for running the lines through the rail it seems like its always a p.i.a to get the lines to come out of the hole???

wired a plug for the tail lights and license plate actuator. The wires exit the frame right by the rear air line

front air line exiting the frame behind the front shock mount
http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l...-29-22_301.jpg
taking a page from Ryan Parma's book, I drilled a hole for the accuair sensor wires behind the sensor

billet clamp on the lower control arm for the brake line

Just about ready for wheels

I use these grommets on one of the holes.
http://www.mcmaster.com/#push-in-grommets/=dzrr8t
They are made for pipe and tube and odd angles, so there is a reinforced center piece and a large outer hole. The larger hole makes it easy to grab the lines or wires. For this truck I used the ones that require a 1-5/8" hole because I will have 2 air lines and several wires coming out of the grommet. I did one on the drivers side and one on the pass. side. I didn't snap a pic yet because I am still waiting on the grommets to arrive.

Looks sweet!!! Who did your harness and where are you placing your ecu?

tre5 09-11-2011 05:42 PM

Re: Tre5 Customs roadster blazer project

Carlos did the harness. I'm not sure if he is a member here or not, but he is on the other forum. I will probably be modifying it some more due to the length. I am putting it under the dash and I want the wires concealed, so I may be lengthening the whole thing.

Am I the only one that wants to bolt down a seat and steering wheel and drive it just like that?

I've put rings on pistons, checked gear lash, hand made wheel tubs and made custom brake lines; all as a 25 year bodyman/painter and in my experience the first thing anyone sees (body/paint) gets the worst rap for time lines. I'm not pokin or looking for drama, just sayin the part that takes the most hands-on labour needs time for the luvin required.
When this things done....BOOM!! It's gonna be awsome!
